Is "street smart" the same as common sense? or are they different?

People talk about being "book smart" or "street smart" but do they mean basically having common sense when it comes to "street smart" or is that something different?

do you think there are various levels of "having common sense"?

also, should people include emotional intelligence when comparing their preference of intelligence in a partner?

for my sister common since is know that a boomer rang was never really suppose to come back and that it was used as a weapon but then they just made a game out of it -_- smart ass

for me common sense is if there is no car coming why wait for the light to turn green

No having common sense and being street smart are two different things.

Having common sense is being able to make proper judgment of your own.

Being street smart is being aware of your surroundings and what is going on around you.

street smarts is a mix of common sense and social intelligence. its like being hip to the game, being able to tell when someone is trying to con you
