He says he is "waiting for the right time to ask me out." What should I think about that?!

We both know we like one another. We work together. We recently kind of opened up about liking one another, after being flirty all summer. What do you think he is waiting for?

That's really difficult to say. If I knew my crush liked me back, I would not hesitate. There's no doubt and I don't need to be afraid of being rejected.

There could be other reasons for him to wait though, maybe there's something in his life he needs to work out first - some personal stuff, you never know as people go through many experiences. Or he may be afraid for commitment, if he's inexperienced not sure how to get things going, or simply not sure if he genuinely likes you (wants you) or if it's just a crush that will go over quickly.

Or maybe there's some special occasion he wants to use to ask you out, make it extra special.

I am almost positive that he is inexperienced and has never had a girlfriend. I told him he was just afraid and he said that was.exactly true.

In that case, it's also a positive sign. He likes you so much, he does not wish to screw up and lose you.

It could be that he is afraid of commitment or he doesn't want to jump into anything without being sure that he wants to. Maybe he is trying to avoid dating you and then falling for some other person which would pt him in a fix, so he is trying to make sure that he really likes you, or like scoopy said, maybe he is not even sure if he has anything more than a crush, and doesn't want to jump into conclusion.

He's admitted to being afraid but it seems like he has progressed. Before he made it seem like he was worried about the consequences of dating a coworker. But after a few more conversations he seems to be over that,.staying it's a non issue since neither of us is.a manager or anything. Then he said he'd let me know when he came up with a good date and that we still had to "talk."

I know he really likes me so that's not in question here.

If you are sure he likes you, then the best thing to do is "talk", make him explain himself to you and it can make every thing easier. If you talk with him, it will help him to actually think of what he wants, especially if he is afraid and uncertain. It might not be a one time talk, but it would help.

If you don't talk about it with him, it could take him a long time to come to a decision, and you might not want to wait that long.
