Calling a guy and he doesn't remember me?

I met a guy last Friday. The guy is a friend of my friend. Last Friday, he seemed to be into me and my guy friends thought so too. Anyway, before he left he told his friend (our mutual friend) to give me his number. I just called him today because I just received his number. When I called, he didn't seem to know who I was so I just hang up the phone. Did he forget because I spent 5 days without calling? I thought he'd remember me because we talked for a while when we met.

since when guys hand you over their number - not even in person, just through their friends - patiently waiting to be called back? might as well be he's quite shy, and his friends are trying to help him out a bit. that would also explain him 'failing' (faking) to remember about you at all. well now you forget about him and see what happens. he's got your number by now.

Maybe he was intoxicated.

Why not start over with him? And try to meet him?

Maybe that will refresh his memory.

You shouldn't have reacted that way.

At least he was being honest.

I'd rather someone be honest in that situation rather than pretend they know me when they have no idea.

Maybe he was trying to play it cool? You know, give off the vibe that he's ultra busy & popular, meeting new people everyday. Don't mention it to your friend and wait to see if he mentions it to them about it.
