Why do some girls pull away when they realise they like the guy?

Any ideas? Why all the mixed signals and never admitting how they really feel?

Well sometimes people read signs wrong. Chances that a girl is going to pull away are low, especially if a girl really likes the guy. It could be that she just realize she's isn't interested in the guy anymore or she doesn't want to be serious with anyone at the moment. There could be many reasons. If a girl gives off the impression that she isn't interested, then, usually she really isn't interested and she's not pulling away or hiding or anything. It could also just be that she has no idea what she wants.

and if they are constantly getting close then pulling away they dont know what they want then?

Yeah. They don't know what they want. Truth is if a girl is really sure she is into a guy and have fallen in love, she won't want to ever jeopardize a possible relationship. She'll do anything to not have go away. So the fact that these girls do that shows me they have no fear and aren't scared of you losing interest. This does not add up in line with a girl who is seriously interested in a guy.

Ok, I get ya! So what if she acts interested sometimes and then not interested other times? Is she waiting for the guy to prove himself or something?

Like I said, hot/cold behavior indicates she has no idea what she wants and is just going with it looking for either attention or a good time. The only time I'd say she could be waiting for the guy to prove himself is if the guy has not shown any interest in her. If you have showed her signs of being into her, then I'm sure she's not waiting for anything.

What happens to me is that I will be speaking for weeks on end with a male friend, realize that he is attracted to me and take my distances to not hurt him :)

Thanks for the answer although as I have experience being the one on the receieving end of that type of behaviour we look at it like this; So instead of being honest with him you just run away and hope he gets the message? It leaves the guy thinking he did something wrong if you do that. Sure it'll sting at first but honesty is the only way to go.

To be honest I hadn't seen it that way. But you are right, I guess I prefer just going separate ways than creating instant pain. But I hadn't thought of the other side... hmm

Those girls have a fear of commitment. They tend to go after guys that are no good for them, for the sole purpose of letting them have an excuse to bail on the relationship later. If a decent guy actually gets a chance the girl freaks out, and she starts sabotaging the relationship.

You take it slow and don't push her to admit feelings or label the relationship. Just be fun to be around, be sweet, and build/maintain the sexual tension.

Some girls are like that because of some reasons. Maybe they are afraid to get rejected by the guy that they like, maybe they don't want to fall in love yet or they are afraid of what it will happwn if they tell the guy.

Well I don't know really, every girl is different. But some girls don't know how to respond when they realize they like a guy. So, rather than coming out and saying they like you, instead they distance themselves because they don't know what else to do. Even if all they want to do is to be with you. The best thing you can do is maybe show her that you like her or wait until she's ready to take the 'thing' or 'somewhat relationship' to the next level.

Admitting how they feel puts them in a vulnerable place, sometimes they want to know for sure how the guy feels first to avoid embarrassment or heartbreak
