It's not that they are possessive but a girl needs some attention.

I don't hate these things about my boyfriend. Let me elaborate.

1. He holds doors open for me already. But letting me sit first? I don't see the point in that. He can sit down first. That's a small and rather irrelevant thing.

2. I like it when he talks about sports. When I first met him I had no knowledge of anything when it came to sports. Now, five years later, we watch football and basketball together every time there are big games and I actually really enjoy seeing him get hyped up about it.

3. I will admit this pissed me off in the beginning. I felt unappreciated. However, the more I thought about it, the more I realized how hypocritical and pathetic I was being because everyone needs friend time. Including myself.

4. My boyfriend is a Mommy's boy. So is my son. So I think its cute that he still has respect for his mother and wants her to help him make rightful choices. I can only hope my son stays a Mommy's boy.

5. This is a tough one.. I'm not a overly jealous person and neither is my boyfriend (now). He used to be and yes, it did drive me insane because I felt like he didn't trust me. So yes, you're right on this one.

6. I burp just as much as him.

7. I swear just as much as him as well. If he wasn't swearing it would make me uncomfortable. In public we don't swear. At home, we don't give a f**k.

8. Is being broke really an issue these days when it comes to dating? How about instead of focusing on what is in him wallet, you focus on what you can do to help you both become more successful.

9. Comparing to ex's should never happen. So you're right on this one too.

10. There is nothing wrong with having high expectations. As long as they are reasonable. Its better than having no expectations at all.

80% disagreed.
The rest don't know what is needed by them.

All disagreed (saying if she can't love me for what I am, then it's over.)

I now realize that working into a relationship, you just be yourself. If she doesn't like you for what you are, she should pack and go.

The same thing that tells guys to do this tells girls not to talk over a man and basically just sit and look pretty. I'm all for being courteous, right? But if you are going to jump right in to expectations, who's to say YOU aren't the one being rude for not opening MY doors?

8. Here is my take on the whole "who should pay" issue.

If a man is cheap for only paying for the food HE ordered, and not covering her; What does that make HER, if she is so offended that she even has to pay for herself?

10. Have "HIGH EXPECTATIONS": Like expecting to be asked out, paid for, have the doors opened for you, and expect them to have a high paycheck?

Guys need to RAISE their standards, if anything. And not attach SO MUCH status to her having a good genome. She isn't automatically better than you just because she looks like Scarlett Johannson. Dating shouldn't be all about you "proving yourself" to her. She should have a standard to meet, too. Hell, you are just two adults getting to know each other, it doesn't need to be so formal, anyway.

I'm sorry, but a modern, independent woman is a higher standard. I'm more likely to do nice things for a girl who isn't expecting it, and more likely prove a point to a girl who is.

Actually, funny story about #5. I knew a girl who was upset because she kept flirting with other guys, and he didn't get jealous. She wanted him to get all riled up and fight for her.

I put that behavior right alongside those girls who want a guy to jump her and pin her down without waiting for her to respond, because "it's so sexy when a guy just takes control."

1-4 I sort of agree with but I wouldn't say I hate them.

1. My boyfriend is naturally a gentleman. He always gets the door, I'm not gonna flip the one time he forgets.

2. He does ramble on about things, like anime or something. Not many things excite him, so when something does I think it's cute, even if I want him to get to the point.

3. Stuff happens, sometimes he needs his guy time. Most of his time is mine anyway. I can suffocate him with love, cuddles, and a hint of complaining when he gets back.

4. He does love his mom, sometimes it gets annoying but it's his mom, what can a girl do?

5. I think it's kinda cute when my boyfriend is jealous, simply because it's a rarity. He's not a very jealous person, and I don't do things to make him feel that way. I don't dance, but if I did it certainly wouldn't be with another guy as I wouldn't want him to dance with another girl.

6. I don't care if he burps around me, we burp and fart around each other all the time. It's no big deal, we have a quick laugh, and then move on with our lives. This one time he purposely farted on me because I accidentally did it on him. I think how shocking it was, was the funniest part.

8. We're college kids, of course we're broke. I don't mind paying for things, in fact I do most of the time. My boyfriend doesn't like it, but sometimes I wanna go out and if I gotta pay for I'm gonna pay for it.

9. I tend to compare myself, he never EVER has compared me to anyone else. He hates when I do it as there's "nothing to compare" he says I'm in my own league and shouldn't worry about anybody else. No one is as special in his eyes as I am. <3

10. "High expectations" what does this even mean? People act like just because someone has expectations they're expecting too much. Nah, people who think like that are just below what you value and feel offended someone doesn't think they're the best thing since sliced bread. People like this want to do nothing with their looks or their character and still want you to love them. They could be absolutely horrid, but it doesn't matter because that's "who they are."

From reading the little caption below the main point, I believe they meant don't have high expectation as in don't automatically expect sex, or a kiss, or whatever. 2) Of course they would talk about sports its their interest. If I can go on and on about whatever girls are always ranting about to their guys then guys should be able to talk about sports.
3) I am fine with my boyfriend hanging out with guys but not too often. He can hang out with his guy friends when we dont have anything plan together. Guys need some guy time while I will be with my girls and hang out too. Maybe like 3-4 times or a bit more depending on our plans a week he can hang out with the guys...
4) This one depends too. I like a guy who loves his mom and would call her often but I dont want him to talk about her 24/7 and I dont a guy who is always depending on his mom 24/7 maybe he can depend on her sometimes but not all the time. I really like a family oriented guy.
5) I want my guy to get jealous. Its a natural feeling that you can't control. Its not fair if I can get jealous but he can't. Also I find it cute when guys get jealous.
6) Burping is a natural thing. I am okay if he farts too. But he can't get mad if I accidentally let out a burp.
7) I dont like a guy who swears a lot and who thinks it is cool to swear. I am fine with my guy swearing a bit though. Sometimes he could be piss and let out a couple swears and I will be totally fine or when he is surpise and let out a swear. I am totally fine if he doesn't use it in his everyday dialogue especially when he speaks with his parents and other older adults.
8) If he is broke then I will pay for the meal but I do want him to pay a couple of times instead of me just paying and possibly ending up broke too. Maybe I will help him get a job so he isn't broke.

To be honest i dont agree with any of the things on the list but 1 and 9. Only because it is nice in general to open doors for people. I open doors for women, men, old people and etc. i was on a date with a guy and he literally let the door slam in my face. Yes! Girls have a bad habit of dating a guy and trying to change him. You can tell from the get go when a guy has jealousy issues and etc. its best to get to know the guy and see if he meets your standards and if he doesn't then all due respect, dont make it into a relationship. I'm not PURPOSELY trying to fit into society. I don't desire to "fit in" as you say. I am different in some ways and I enjoy being different. BUT there are some societal norms that I happen to agree with and there are some that I don't agree with. You don't agree with any or you can't see that some are technically okay and/or acceptable. I almost never do any of these and women still hate me. I hate watching sports. Playing them is fine, but I never talk about them because its so stupid how people get all worked up about some dumb sports team, they think the world will end if said team loses a game and I hate that. 1. Fine, as long as it mutual so don't talk on your phone during a date especially about me.
2. First, sporty girls do exist, did you account for them? 2nd I hate sport myself.

Some of those are mildly annoying to me. I definitely am a reserved person, so anything obnoxious in public is a turn off for me (like the loud swearing in public). Being a respectful person is always nice!

I don't really agree with #8... I always pay my own way on dates, and the guy pays his way. If he pre-purchases tickets and pays for me, then I will pay for the refreshments and/or dinner (depending on how much the tickets were). If he is broke, that's ok... I can drive to his place and we can watch movies, play video games, or board games. Or I can pick him up and we can go exploring (somewhere I can park and we walk and talk).

Each woman is different, just like each man. Most of these points would probably resonate with a lot of people however. Another one for me, would be poor hygiene. Why can't he brush his teeth and shower before we hang out?
