People need people, it's not a gender thing. It does not mean that all men inspire women. Every individual person is different
We don't need men to inspire women. We need women to inspire women.
No shit
That's just about the silliest thing i've heard ever. I have been inspired by men and women.
@illytaster Which is great, don't get me wrong. But women, young women particularly, need to see women doing amazing things.
Why? My dad taught me to be strong. My brother labored in a job just to push me through to college. We need to stop believing that only if we see our gender do things can WE as younger girls do stuff. I look up to men and funny enough i have actually received more support and help from men rather than women.
@illytaster There have already been studies done proving that young women don't believe they can do things because they don't see women doing them. It's uniquely inspiring for a girl to see a woman doing something and it tells her that she can do it to. It's fact. Anecdotal evidence is great, but it doesn't change anything.
Sure there have been studies because of what society has taught us. We should be able to think out of the box and not blankly follow all studies as the ultimate truth. Strange that i have never felt that because i do't see women doing something i can't do it. Don't get me wrong it is always inspiring to see a women do things, but would we not want to build a world where men can be inspired by women and women can also be inspired by men?
I agree with you that is just my anecdotal avoidance. But surely if we are all trying to break the mounds of society we should see things outside the box a little. Why can't it be inspiring for a young boy to see a women entrepreneur and think i want to be like her one day
@illytaster The way I see it is that there are already a shit ton of inspirational male figures, and that's great. But it only helps to a point. It's not about breaking out of the box. We're biologically programmed to seek out role models of the same sex. All I'm saying is that we need more women to inspire other women.
Sure i understand. I still don't see the logic in that women should need the majority of inspiration to come from other women. Its sad actually. I look up to many men and its made me a strong successful independent women
@illytaster I'm glad that you've had that experience, but most women don't. Beyond that, I think it's important that young women see women doing amazing things. It's what I hope my children (regardless of sex) have the chance to see.
Its really sad tho, that we don't support the opposite gender enough. I wish women would also look up to men as role models too
This:
"We don't need men to inspire women. We need women to inspire women."
=/=
"All I'm saying is that we need more women to inspire other women."
@illytaster
"It's not about breaking out of the box."
"We're biologically programmed to seek out role models of the same sex."
You are directly contradicting yourself there. You said it's not about breaking out of the box, then you create a 'biological box' right after that, and say everyone is inside of it. Also clearly not every individual is "programmed" to think that way, because you are talking to one who isn't that way. Unless your argument then would be that she's lying?
This is her whole whole point, is to get out of this "it's biological!" attitude that society has forced upon a lot of people, and think for yourself instead.
People should be inspired by other people, gender shouldn't play a role in this.
@Dragonblood21 @Jager66 thanks guys :)
@Dragonblood21 nicely put👍🏼
@Dragonblood21 You clearly missed the entire point of what I said.
No, I don't think I did. If I didn't understand your point, I wouldn't have found the clear contradiction in your statements. You shouldn't dismiss someone's supported argument just because you don't like it.
@Dragonblood21 Those weren't contradictory statements. I said we didn't need to go outside of the box, then referenced proven scientific facts. I didn't "create a box." I just brought one to light. You didn't point out contradictory statements, you drew a false conclusion.
Your statement can't have any more back up other than "a lot of women feel that way", it's borderline pseudoscience. It can be no more than a collection of data that women would often prefer another woman to look up to. Two hundred years ago America looked down upon black people, for just being black. There was no "science" there, it was social conditioning. Or as I keep referring to it as, a box. If you want to believe this is biological, then my belief is, is that it only further pushes our gender issues unnecessarily further apart.
Sounds like you want another daddy to take care of you and guide you in life, not an equal healthy relationship lol
Why does she sound like a daddy? I feel the same yet i'm still confident.
Thanks.

of course women need men. if all women died today men would die of old age. if all men died today women would die of hunger and exposure.
Lmfao
Nice my take. I would also like to have one for men do need women.
I disagree but i see where you're coming from. I believe in generality, people need other people.
Women need men more than men need women, by far. There are many other reasons why they do that this take doesn't mention, but its good that more women are starting to realize this.
I don't think that was the point of the my take. And that's just plain not true. Sure, many women, due mostly to cultural influence, feel that they can't be indipendent, but I would say most women now days don't feel that way. We all need someone; I don't think there is any reason women need men more than the other way around
I don't agree, but I'm glad you've found a way to improve yourself.
I can't say I agree with this. What about lesbians?
Had you been shooting quaaludes for the past half hour when you decided to write a piece about this objectivist crap, Dagny?
We need them and they need us to keep them in line lol
Ugh
Ugh again
@Iloveasianfood1 " they need us to keep them in line lol"
No.
We need you for love, support and reproduction. Oh, and cooking. MAKE ME A SANDWICH.
Thank you, after all that goes on from radical feminists on this sight, it was certainly so nice to read this. thank you for writing it.
All I see is hate for fems on here...
@SovereignessofVamps Ask yourself why?
So if most people on here agree with you then why would you say in ur post that agreement is rare? I have no idea why... people hate change I guess.
@SovereignessofVamps Assumption 1: Most agree with me, Assumption 2: agreement is rare. Guess you didn't go to school. Little pussy
No, you're one lol I just repeated what YOU said in your comment. You agreed with me.
Sea turtles the males so few little of them live while there journey in the ocean
I hate guys ,,,,,,
This Statement Needs Revision

It dont make me weak to say I need a man.
People need people, that's all.
