The path for us men to be successful with women is extremely difficult. Recently, I’ve been noticing a lot of guys on GAG who have been hurt, closed off, and feel lost. Believe me, I know your pain, but hopefully the information below will help you see that the sun will always rise tomorrow.

Yesterday, I found out a girl that I really liked had a boyfriend and led me on for months - this has happened around 15 times now. She came into the gym with her boyfriend and didn’t give a flying fuck that I was there. I simply packed my things and left. A few hours later, I began to approach other girls. My friend, shocked at my stoicism, asked “how do you keep going?”

1. You’ll fail most of the time.

- Most women will reject you. Overtime, rejection hurts a lot less. Although, while rejection hurts less over time, it is the constant continuous failures that will test your strength right down to the bones.

2. If you want to climb Mt. Everest, you’ll have to deal with the natural hazards.

- Rejection isn’t the worst part in this game. It’s the constant teasers, manipulators, and attention seekers you will have to deal with at least a dozen or few dozen times a year that unsurprisingly causes the most drama and pain. Fortunately, the pain of manipulation also becomes less over time due to experience.

3. Find your own reason to keep moving.

- I’ve failed for 10 years. While having FWBs or one night stands are great, I haven’t dated in 10 years because usually something beyond my and/or the girl’s control always gets in the way. I’ve also learned much from these failures. The truth is that no human can deny their biological influence over time - you will have to settle down with someone eventually. Before I die, I want to tell myself I took every chance I could, even if it means I will fail every time because once we are on our death beds, we cannot make up for the precious time lost.

4. The failures do pay off.

- Perhaps one of the most awesome experiences in life is when you know that all your suffering and hard work begins to pay off. About a few months ago, I came to notice more and more girls began to respond to me much stronger than before. Why? Women can often tell when a guy knows what the hell he is doing. Simply put, you’ll be able to identify which girls are interested, and which ones are not. Further, you'll know what kind of girls are right for you, and not.

yeah i know, but every now and then a manipulator does find her way to my attention but they lose that quite quickly, i'm looking for a more specific type of girl since i'm more of a serious person in that aspect and i don't like playing games.

I understand your viewpoint, but asking someone not to care about rejection is kind of like saying I don’t care about drinking water. The human ego is hardwired into our neocortex, unless you’re training to be a monk isolated from society.

I know it is a lot to ask but it can be done. I was rejected at least 10 times before I found my current girlfriend. I just kept on trying and put the rejections behind me.

I agree. Rejection causes affect, which is physiological. This causes us to emote and negative affect causes pain. It’s built right in to the brain. Sadness, sorrow, regret, embarassment.

Including but not limited to: gut wrenching, bobbing Adam’s apple, running nose, tearing up, sinking stomach feeling. Wooziness.

The real trick is to have courage to say that you accept the possibility of feeling those things when you take the plung. At a certain point the negatives of abstaining outweighs the cons of experiencing pain. This is when you decide that regardless of the fear of pain, something can and is more important than the fear.

That’s when you know you have made it. Things improve from there. It is very much like climbing Mt. Everest.

You did what I never did. At 20 I just went into avoidance mode and at every opportunity I was like ‘nope. Nope. Nope. Not going there. Not doing hay again, hurts to much.’

Consequently I’m 25 and haven’t dated anyone longer than a month. I run away right before it starts.
