In the end tho it don't matter. Words are subject to change and contexts of those words change, that's how language works. Therefore if i want or someone else wants to call a person a incel because of whatever reasons they can shrugs. It's like the south park explaining the F word. If a word is generally accepted by the people using it in one way then that what the words means really.

I agree with that. It's not a word that's hundreds of years old, and has a definitive origin based on Latin or something.

I'm just pointing out that it wasn't created by angry women as a way to disparage awkward guys. Because that adds a lot of fuel to the fire. We've got enough problems in society as is, without adding that divisive piece of dis/misinformation.

I would say those who follow that kinda misinformation and just blaming women for it, Generally are gonna be the ones who wouldn't care to know the actual origin and they themselves probably only get upset by the word because it hurts there ego when there called out for what they are. Then just make the excuse women are crazy and some other slander.

True. But I never give up on the moderates, the centrists out there. There's enough of them to make effort worthwhile. They're not as loud and blustery as the extremists, but they talk and spread information around too.

MGTOW op-out of the usual man-woman relationship but not exactly out of sex with women. Not all MGTOW are bitter divorced men or guys thinking women are out to get them.

In a sense, some guys will not invest emotionally in a relationship. Some guys just have girlfriends instead of wives. They would treat relationship with women a bit like a hobby than a life career. Nice to have but not going to sweat over it.

Is that really MGTOW? I feel like that's honestly just about half of all men out there. Always has been, always will.

It's a big difference. Men usually invest emotionally in a relationship. That's why they go on dates and get married.

      MGTOW don't.

      Nope, you're wrong.

MGTOW cut women out of their lives completely. It's not a spiritual choice, nor is it a socioeconomic problem. It is an ideological celibacy.

While INCELs can't find a partner, MRAs are out to fix 'the problem' of 'inequality' through action and activism, MGTOWs hold self-preservation above all else, and because of this the majority bow out.

Having a girlfriend is an emotional investment.

A goomah, for instance (Italian side chick) is placed in a lower status position than the wife. He's invested in the wife, not so much in the goomah.

But there's little point defining all the levels of emotional investment. But let's say, at the first sign of trouble, or the girl being pissed off at him for whatever, if he bails out, he's just with her for sex, and he'll replace her when she becomes too much "trouble." But he is not an MGTOW.

So until women start looking at and having relationships with ALL men this will continue. It is all on women who need to stop being so shallow and only pursuing the 9 and 10 men and look at the men who are really attainable will it stop.

Nothing worse than wanting a woman who looks at you like you were something on the bottom of her shoe and watch her go off in search of "something better" when you would have done everything for her and treated her like a queen.

It's not about only 9/10 men. It's a combination of issues with both sexes. Girls have to be more realistic and accepting, and guys can't entirely blame girls for some of their own inadequacies. It's only when people decide it's better to be with someone imperfect (as all people are) than it is to be alone, that anything will tip. (And I honestly don't see that happening. But if it does, I'll probably be long gone by then.)

You’re only an incel if you hate men/women because they don’t wanna fuck you. If you don’t get laid but you also don’t hold any resentment because of it, it just means you’re in a drought

Uh no. Can't get laid/find love = involuntarily celibate = incel, for short. Hate/resentment is not a criterion.

Excellent. Interesting how such a simple concept summarized in the term "Incel", got twisted over time. I didn't like the use of that term anyway...

Except the term is now used as an insult, mostly by female, to attack anyone not bowing down to them. Especially the feminists, who use it as a derogatory term to mock guys by suggesting they can't get a girl.
As many things, including feminism, what they are today isn't what they were when created. What started as a good intention ended up being used as a mockery and weapon against men.

You want to bring it back to feminism, and that's your opinion and prerogative, but it's not fact that only feminists dislikes incels. There are also lots of men who see extremist incel behaviour and attitudes and shake their head.

Guys on gag, with no profile pic, routinely attack females. Of course it creates a vicious cycle of hate, going both directions.

Not everyone is a decent human being, or has their shit together, or has good communication skills, or is successful. There's this easy metric to gauge popularity now - called the internet. It can easily be argued that it's just made a convenient place for the disenfranchised to organize... and 'tribalize.'

I say it like I've seen it, and what I've seen is that term mainly used by women, who for the most part would flaunt being feminists.
Even here on G@G, I've seen it used by men only a handful of times, and most of them were just trying to look good to women around.
The term is now derogatory. Which is an issue for me because I am, by the definition you gave, an incel.

Most times men who have mental health issues start blaming women then hating women which gives them the term INCEL. MGTOW is just men going their own way and not seeing relationships valuable. Good read thanks,

Almost everything like this can be traced back to a core human-nature idea: "I'm better than you". That's it. That's why people say 95% of the garbage they spew. To claim superiority by putting the other person down

Sort of right... and then... no.
You are the only setting up the idea that it came from feminists, not anyone else.
And acting like it’s all about misogyny is silly, that’s you making it about women. It disregards their perspective.

I don't think this sentence is irrelevant "Now, 24 years later, has become a male-driven movement in which to corral their anger and resentment of feeling marginalized, dismissed, and undervalued."

Many "incels" are so out of a lack of interest. A wet pussy is not worth the time, effort or expense to many of us. I could even turn down an offer.

Technically, you're not an incel then? If you don't try (and nothing wrong with not trying by the way), then you're not INvoluntarily celibate.

If you turn down offers, then you are most definitely not an incel lol.

Thank you. I keep trying to say that being involuntarily celibate (which I was for 27 years and 1 month) is not bv the same as being INCEL, maybe back in the beginning it was the same, but now to be an INCEL you must legitimately hate women.

No, anyone who is involuntarily celibate is by definition an incel. It's just a short way of saying "involuntarily celibate". All these mainstream news articles and dictionary websites have decided to come up with their own definition, but that's not what the portmanteau means at all.

The only two questions you have to ask yourself to see if you are an incel:
      1) Have you had no sexual relations for a long while (1+ year seems reasonable)?
      2) If answer to 1 is yes, is it out of choice? If the answer to this is no, you are involuntarily celibate and hence an incel.

There's nothing wrong with being an incel. I'm willing to bet that hundreds of millions of lonely men around the world are incels even if they have no idea what the term means.

My point is your description of incels is a stereotype. Anyone who has not had sexual relations for a long time and not out of choice (monks are voluntarily celibate) is involuntarily celibate or incel. Sure, you got your neckbeards, but lifelong virgins, unlovably ugly guys who are otherwise awesome people, disabled people etc. are also incels.
