  Agreed, but it's still a big part of life. It's why we are mortal. Organisms that do not reproduce sexually do not age. They only die if they can't find food or are injured (that's why there are coelenterates that have lived in captivity for hundreds of years). All organisms that reproduce sexually grow old and die.
