Creating future generations

I just thought about this:

Every time we answer a question or give advice there is a strong chance we are creating different people in the future. How is this so you may ask, well think about it, every time you give helpful advice that gets two people together, there is a chance they will procreate.

If they have children, their children have children and so on. If this site didn't exist and they could not get helpful advice from the people they know, they would more than likely pass up on certain people and those future people will cease to exist.



There is an old saying that mentions that every person you cross paths with changes you and you change them as well. We impact everyone we meet on some level, big or small.

"You can influence the future right here and now!"

We have a chance here to create a better future by helping people deal with situations in their life right now, I know it is an amazing thought but even if you never have children, you can influence the future right here and now.


We are shaping the future and we didn't even realize it, we are more powerful than we realized! So let us use our powers for good and make a better world for the future.

I entirely agree. People seem to have no concept of the impact that their advice may have on others. This applies to bad advice as well. Too many stomp on the feelings of those who are hurting. Many more advice everyone to give up when confronted with any struggle. Whether they are callous cynics or simply too lazy to try to understand the situation, I shudder when I read such advice. Members her need to realize that it's not about what they would do in a situation but what the asker should do.

Words have power... and good deeds never go unpunished... just thnk of all the advice given to some yung person- that gets thwir heads str8... and leads to them doing good... we mite have the 50th Prez on here... might have the next Hollywood star... you never know... great topic, great article...

Well said. Of course everything we do impacts other people, whether on this site or not..so we should always be thinking about what our contributions will look like from the viewpoint of many years hence....

Future generations are irrelevant. The technological singularity will change society so dramatically that the concept of generations won't mean much.
