My boyfriend told me I look like a man, and he was being serious. Really hurt. Why would he say this? :s?

Me and my boyfriend have been together for about 2 months. When we got together he said all the guys in our college class fancied me, but that he won. He also asked me why I was with him, and presumed it must be because I have a low self-esteem. He said all his friends fancy me and that I am the hottest girl he has been out with. He always called me beautiful, gorgeous, stunning and that he didn't understand why I was with him.
To be honest it was quite nice to hear, but I really don't care that much. I don't value looks, personality is more important to me. Whilst I like to look nice, I wouldn't say I could be bothered to put loads of effort in.

Then one day whilst sat on my bed cuddling out of nowhere he said he thought I looked manly because he thinks I have a prominent jaw line. I was a bit speechless at the time, and a bit hurt. The last thing a girl wants to hear from her boyfriend is that she is manly.

I thought this was a one off, but he has started being nasty about the way I look and these are things I can't change unless I have plastic surgery.

Why has he suddenly changed towards me? Why did he even say that to me? He must have wanted to hurt me for some reason.

I call him handsome and boost him up all the time. Why if he doesn't like how I look, is he still with me?

Can a someone explain this behaviour please?
