Why would this guy say this to me?

I was getting out of my car today to go into a store and before I got out I spotted this guy walking on the sidewalk and he was going to pass the front of my car. When I got out my car I walked quickly into the store. As I walked in I heard him say “that’s clean” and he was smirking.
I knew he was talking to me because when I walked in the store I caught him looking at me through the window.
I don’t drive a nice car lol it’s all scratched up. I had on my work uniform and some jeans which isn’t super cute but it works lol and I always have my makeup done nice and stuff. Could he have been hitting on me? I feel stupid asking this but I genuinely wanna know what he meant out of curiosity
