So, I like (d) this guy we messaged and texted most of the days, and he knew I like him and found him attractive. He'd never say one way or the other on his end and the conversations would get more personal and frequent, but I got fed up feeling like an option and just dragging whatever this is, on. So, I started calling him Bud after every sentence. Figured I might as well friend zone him now to protect myself and eventually move on. He asked me why I was doing that, saying it was random and weird. Like, why does it even matter? If he was interested in me he'd have said something long before now, after I've flirted with him and even tried to seduce him a couple of times. I'm just tired of feeling like I'm beating a dead horse, or spinning my wheels. Why would he say that and am I doing the right thing in moving on?

Sounds like he’s not into you. If he is it’s probably more for sex, nothing serious. Plus yes it is a sudden thing to start calling him that if you’ve never said that. I’d wonder why too if someone started calling me dude all of a sudden when they never did. Chances are he’s already w someone else or talking to someone else, maybe even having sex w someone else while you’re on the back burner.

He might have said it’s random and weird because it sort of was…friendzoning him shouldn’t matter if he wasn’t interested to begin with. Just ask him straight out. Are you both single? How do you know him?
