Boyfriend said I'm too pale and he suggested I should get a tan?

Okay before you jump to conclusions...

Oh told him (I was joking) "I'm thinking about dying my hair black" (I have natural dirty blonde hair) and I'm reallllllllly pale. And he said "if your gonna dye your hair you should get a tan first" and he seemed pretty serious. He also said I looked cute with red tips ( I dyed my tips red... once.. actually three times I don't plan on doing it again)

He didn't say he'll break up with me if I don't it was quite suggestion

well i had my hair dyed black before and it made me extremely pale looking even though i was already decently tanned. so, if you're already pale as a blonde, it would look way more extreme with black hair and he knows that. for some people it doesn't look good but some may be able to pull it off. he was just giving a friendly tip/suggestion and nothing more!

i think he just meant that for darker hair, it would look better with a darker skin tone.
I don't think he was saying you were too pale
