He IMs/calls every day but calls me dawg/bud/buddy?

I met him via work several months ago. When we first met, it was just maybe a couple a times a week chat and just short chats. Then about 6 months ago, he became everyday all day. He almost always starts the chats/calls (99%). Then keeps making up reasons to keep talking to me (I know he does this). But he's calling me Dawg, bud, buddy and homie? So I thought he might have liked me, but calling me those nicknames make me think all friendzone. Any advice?

He might be one of those guys who are shy to express feelings. (wait aren't all guys) A guy i know likes me and he still calls me man, his told me he likes me but yet calls me man? (strange?) I've figured when he calls me man feelings are expressed through that word so whenever he calls me man he experiences those exact feelings and its like a comfort thing.. So buddy your all good sweetheart :)

Yeah, chat/call. He has said I wish you were here with me.

But he doesn't say things like 'we should check out this new resturant' or 'let's go see that mkvie sometime?'

Do you guys live within a distance where dating is possible?

No formal invitation, just seems like he's joking about it.

Joking is good though. Even if he's saying it in a joking manner, be serious about it. Next time he jokingly suggests something, say 'let's do it! Let's go this weekend'.

Friend zone? Oh please, that's what people who think they're more holier than though art are -- aka Hollywood guppies. Sounds like he's wanting to do more talking with you and get to you know more. Some guys talk a lot when they're nervous, or stutter, or slur, or just act like they're kinda drunk.
