If a guy offers to pay for you, does that mean he likes you?

Today I was in the cafeteria doing evangelism with my fellow classmate from school and I was hungry so I went to buy food well he was simply chatting with people in the cafeteria for missionary purposes. When he saw me trying to buy food he offered to pay for me and I refused so then he ran in front of me and tried to compete with me to see if he could grab the money out of his wallet before I did and I succeeded in paying for my meal before he did by just a small margin. I don't know why he would offer to pay for me. I trust him but I don't feel close to him.

Perhaps a good idea would have been to ask him with a smile why he was so eager to buy you dinner?
He may have had a good reason. Especially if he's a guy you trust, don't just sit there thinking what might have been his reason. Just approach him and ask.

Even if he likes you and may have moved a little too quick, you'll still want to know!

Well that's not true I for example I mostly help or pay for girls I feel nothing and sometimes just trying to be nice and being a gentle man

Yeah, in Asian cultures it's common to fight over the bills. We don't care that much about money, we care or value/ treasure long lasting friendships more. Especially if you're a guy and with a lady, you pay for her. You don't want to leave the expression that you're stingy with money.

He could just be a nice guy, or he could like you. See how he acts on other occasions to get a better idea if he is just nice or interested.
