Do confident guys get shy around the girl they like?

He's confident. If he sees im sad, hell send his friend to ask me what's wrong, he won't start a convo with me unless i initiate it. (even a hello) He usually holds eye contact when i catch him staring but only like twice he looked away when i cought him staring.

Absolutely yes. Around some of the most attractive girls, I am completely sociable and confident, but there is just this one girl, that whenever I'm around her I cannot speak properly to save my life, I don't know what it is, but it can get really frustrating when you are with a group of friends and you feel are kind of restrained because that person is there.

Yes, from the description, he sounds extremely shy. Especially the "won't talk unless i start the conversation" part.

Yeah, and that drives me crazy. 1 week can be going great, he'll say hi. But if 1 day i won't respond, (bc i was busy, not bc i ignore him) he'll think im mad at him and won't try to talk again untill ill show him attention.

Yeah, he sounds like he is intimidated by you, and that he is worried about screwing up so much that he trys to avoid you when he feels like you are not at your best.

No. They don't. But it's quite common for a girl to think a guy is confident when he's not just because she has a crush on him, and she paints him (in her mind) in all sorts of attractive shades that don't actually have any basis in reality. ("He's so brave and strong" - eh, maybe he's not... but you're going to think he is, because you like him.)

No, at least I don't. One can feel shy if they don't beleive that they are good enough, or maybe if they are afraid of rejection. If your confident then you won't be afraid to be who you are. So no, I don't feel shy around cute girls.
