What does it mean when a guy says he's busy?

I met this guy a couple weeks ago...

he works and works out pretty much on a daily basis.

He hasn't talked to me for a while but he called me Friday and said he felt like a dick because he hasn't texted me and he's been super busy. We texted for a while today.

Do you really think he's busy or am I just over-reacting?

generally, when confronted, the guy makes 'ive been busy' an excuse to avoid confrontation and it usually means something bad that he's just not that into you...

but in your case, I think this guy is being genuine and really cares about you and contacted you himself feeling sorry for what he did, therefore its the honest, truthful kind of busy.

i have called up a guy in the past who started ignoring me and confronted him of why he's been so quiet, and he said oh I've been busy and stuff, but in reality he never really cared to ask me how I'm doing or never apologized or anything, he's just being a flirt/player and that's when you know theyre a-holes.

He is either doing something time consuming that doesn't have to do with sex or screwing someone which most guys are most likely to be read easily if they are. (most of them). If you don't like my opinion take it with a grain of salt c:

You're over-thinking this WAY too much. He probably meant to call you sooner and just plain forgot. That's why he "felt like a dick." He's telling the truth about being busy, but what he really means is... I was busy AND I forgot, so I feel like a dick. I have a friend (a girl) who actually calls me up and makes plans to make plans. She'll say something like "Do you want to hang out this weekend? I'll call you Friday or Saturday about hanging out." My boys on the other hand... especially back in high school... would wake me up at 2:00 in the afternoon to tell me they're playing a pick up game in 15 minutes. What a bunch of dicks! See the difference?

hmm. if he has a job, and works out, sounds like he's busy. He also said he was busy, which is usually a good indicator.

Does he ever text you first? if not, he may just be texting you for now, to see whether or not he can get a booty call. very sad but true.
