Eye contact during lecture?

Okay, so this is weird but my professor and I have made prolonged eye contact a few times. Idw to read too much into it or anything it just makes me wonder what that means? Do men do that for no reason? It's not flirty eye contact of course because it's during lecture. I don't think I've ever seen him do it to anybody else either. It's just real intense. I didn't mean to we just sort of stared into each others eyes and nobody broke eye contact for several seconds. I just wanna know what this could mean.

I've seen instructors/teachers/professors of both genders do this many times. It really doesn't mean anything, other than that they're trying to make eye contact with members of their "audience." Some do it more than others, but it's not unusual at all.

Maybe he thinks you're a good student. Maybe you remind him of someone. Maybe you have an aura about you that pulls his attention to you over other students. Maybe he is gay.

Lo! That's all very true. It just felt strange I guess. Usually people look away after only a few seconds. At least now I know some of what runs through a man's head when he stares into a woman's eyes. Haha.

are you the type of student that is focused and attentive in class? I read somewhere that other teachers responded and they mentioned they tend to have more eye contact with students that seem eager to learn and are focused on the lecture.

Honestly, not really. I do pay attention as best as I can but I don't ever participate actively.
