Why do people (especially men) always say I am too serious? I CAN smile but.. why do men expect me to smile at them all the time?

I would consider myself a kind person. But recently, people and a lot of them men.. always say why are you so serious? This one guy told me to smile more, he said it in a nice way... not an asshole way. But even then, I don't know why people think I am always mad or upset. It's just my face!!
AND why do men expect me to smile a lot at them? Sometimes I feel because of how I look that I am expected to be.. something in a way. Pleaseee give me your insight thanks!!

Who cares what people think. I always find my self forcing a smile at people because I don't want to be called out on not smiling but thats me. I often think back and ask myself if my smile was too fake or did I seem sarcastic lol.

I don't think it's a gender thing. Older women love telling me to smile for some reason. I guess I just look unhappy with my neutral face. It's like... I'll smile when I have incentive to, not when some random 65 year old woman asks me to.
