This guy I like set up a time to talk on the phone tomorrow and he responded "sounds good Hollywood". Does that mean anything special or just "sounds good"?
I don't know it's origin, however, to refer to somebody as "Hollywood", is a compliment of sorts, intended to imply they are good-looking and personable enough to be a "player" in the Hollywood scene. It can also be used to imply a given person may put on airs and dress and behave like they belong in movies, though, in fact, they are only deluding themselves. I would think mosr people use the term, as they heard someone else use it, and merely like the way it sounds.

I think it has more to do with the rhyme of it, as WhatIsThisIDon't pointed out.
