My boyfriend lies a lot? what should I do?

my boyfriend lies a lot, mostly about small stuff. he lies most about like what he's doing, for example he'll make up a big lie to why he couldn't reply for two hours to me because he was cooking, but he was actually just playing xbox. it doesn't bother me that he isn't in the mood to talk or whatever, and I don't expect him to talk to me 24/7 but sometimes it feels like crappy he can't just say hey I'm gonna go play Xbox for a while. almost like he doesn't trust me or like I'm gonna be uptight about it haha but I wouldn't be

why does he do this? and should I talk to him about it? if that was you how would you like your gf to respond to this haha

First of all, he's lying to you about cooking bc he dosen't want to seem immature about playing those childish video games he wants to seem sophisticated and impress you so he says he's cooking. He's lying to you bc he wants 2 impress u and seem more sophisticated than he really is. He's trying 2 put his front foot foward. Just say u don't have 2 lie to me to make urself seem better or more sophisticated i love u for the way u r. U should if ur having an issue with it ir it's negatively affecting ur relationship. Consider the fact if he lies about the small things and can't be true 2 u about these what else will he not be about the other things. Good luck.

Gosh my BF do the same thing and it's pisses me off as hell, I hate lairs I would like him hurt me with truth then pisses me with lie...

Definitely bring it up because if he lies about even small stuff it makes him hard to trust.

It's mature of you to ask WHY he could be doing this, good on you!
On the surface, it's probably some form of insecurity on his part. Ask him about it :) ask him why he does it, and try to read between the lines when he answers (cos he might be lying, lol). Sometimes it's a learned response which can be unlearned. It doesn't ALWAYS mean that he's a pathological lier and that you should run for the hills, lolol! :)

the thing is... he will not admit to lying no matter what, so i can't really ask him why.
I kind of feel like he does it to not hurt my feelings, but ahh it hurts me so much more than him just being honest and upfront. But anyways, thank you for replying. I really enjoyed your response :)

A big lie was that he said he was cooking while he was really goofing off with a game? I'd say you have some nasty lessons to learn, but I'd also say you get rid of him.
Most girls wouldn't take that sort of thing

oh yea? wait and see. my dad was like that. he always lied and grew up to see my mother suffer. they always fought because my mom never trusted him and automatically assumed that he was lying... all the time. I hope this is not your case, just saying. be careful.
