What does it mean when a guy reads your text but doesn't reply?

I was having a conversation with my guy friend and asked him a question to which he read but didn't reply to at all (ever). Does this mean that he finds me annoying or am I bothering him? What do guys usually do when the get annoyed with someone over text?

This happened to me yesterday.. texted a guy for the firs time.. he read it and didn't reply until this morning saying it was his son's bday weekend... I think sometimes people are busy or just need peace and quiet to respond to texts especially in aromatic situations... but I would love a guys take on this as well... this is what he texted to me (blowing me off I felt) we are long distance so I wasn't surprised:
Hi, crazy week back to reality and its Christopher's birthday weekend so we have a big airsoft war today. It was great meeting you as well and of course we will stay in touch! Have a great Sunday and hope school is going good!

He might just have forgot to answer. How long has it been since you texted him and how do you know this guy?

This guy is a really good friend of mine and I sent him a message about 3 hours ago, which he read a never replied to, I guess he probably didn't feel like answering that question

3 hours is nothing! Don't worry. He's probably just busy or whatever. If it had been more like 3 days it would be a whole different matter :)
