I used to think that only guys fall in love
Yes. there are times when a guys love is pure and genuine but there are times that a guy only loves a woman because he was driven by his hormones. but yes. Guys also falls in love.
I think we are the only sex that can really fall in love. There is a saying true live only exist between two straight men.

The thing is - men are more prone to being in heat while women are more prone to falling in love.

Actually, that only applies during younger years, it reverses in the older years according to science. Older women on average love sex more than older men.
Testosterone kicks into overdrive as a teen male and there is little you can do to resist. If it wasn't for ridiculous sex drive due to testosterone, guys probably wouldn't be all that interested in sex, for gaming, careers, sports and such would dominate, which is why up until teens we'd always see females as icky. To be honest guys do not fall in love as easily if they keep getting rejected time after time. They start to take more time to fall in love and more time to actually go steady with someone. Then we find the real meaning of infatuation and love.
