Why would a guy flat out avoid a girl he likes?

Let me just first say that I understand that a guy may get nervous around a girl he likes I'm the same way. Why would he try his best to completely avoid her though? This guy I liked does this to me and it frustrates me. He stares at me a lot when he thinks I don't notice but looks away when I do. That's about the closest there is to interaction. I will also be talking to someone and he will come over and talk to that person or do something weird yet still ignore me. I always have to be the one to say hi and etc. One time when me and my friend walked in he didn't say hi or anything even though I know he noticed us. When I went to talk to someone else he went over and said hi to my friend since i left. I've been told he likes me but why would a guy completely ignore a girl he likes?

To be honest, I'm currently in the process of trying my best to avoid the girl I like. Why? Because it's clear she doesn't like me back and through what my friend has told me that he's heard from her, it's just embarrassing and a lot of drama for us both.

In your situation, he may just be trying to get over you, or if he doesn't know you like him, he could think that the feeling isn't mutual. He could be extremely shy, or extremely insecure. There's a chance he may think you're way out of his league and that by liking you, he's embarrassing you. It's hard to comprehend what he's thinking currently, but it surely isn't because he hates you. Don't give up.

I don't feel the same way I used to about him anymore. I really did like him a lot at the time. Funny I used to think that I was out of his league. What you say makes sense though I just never thought a guy would fully ignore a girl he liked. One of our friends said he likes me but I feel like he was just playing.

4. doesn't think you reciprocate feelings
5. Actually doesn't like and therefore ignores you because he thinks you may like him. He might be looking at you to see if you're looking at him because he's creeped out at the idea that you may like him.

I swear its funny... Same issue. Well since I pointed it out he puts in a effort to say hi. I flat out said it looks like you don't even want to be my friend. I mean don't guys know that the whole... well I do it to all girls excuse doesn't wash when we NOTICE when its just us? I feel like they think we are soo stupid sometimes.

Okay I will suggest something but it might be risky and it might not be the best idea.

Try playing hard to get. As much as I fucking hate it when girls play hard to get, it's gets me going. This guy might be taking you for granted and he thinks that you are too easy to take.

If you ever find an idea better than this, then do that. This game isn't pleasant at all.
