How do I tell my boyfriend he's fat in a nice way?

He's very nice to me but he's fat. How do I tell him this, nicely? I don't want to hurt his feelings.

There really isn't a way to say it that won't hurt their feelings somewhat lol. Do you want to know how my grandmother told me to lose weight? She said, "Can you do me a favor? Before I die, can you please lose some weight?" My friends just simply told him that he was fat. He signed up to the gym the following week. Forget all the "I'm concerned about your health" crap. I'm pretty sure that even though he's gained weight, he's still healthy. I'm 230lbs and I don't have a single problem. My cousin who is 70lbs less has high cholesterol and high blood pressure, and he's younger than me. Just tell him that he's gained some weight since you two started dating and that you want him to drop a few pounds.

Is there a reason he put the weight on? depressed? eating more? stopped going to the gym? Did he lose a lot of weight before he met you and is now just leveling out? I think you can be nice.

Just tell him you have noticed he has put on some extra weight and you were wondering if something has been bothering him. Maybe it is something he wants to talk about. Maybe he is depressed and lacks motivation. Let him talk to you about it and if he gets defensive just explain you are here to listen.

If he just started gaining weight let him know your worried about his health. is everything okay with him? he might be depressed and eating his feelings. be very tactful he could be touchy about his weight. but let him know that you will be there for him and support him every step of the way. maybe you could go to the gym together and bond from that

You think he doesn't know? If he's going to work on that, then that is something that needs to be generated from within. If it is getting serious enough that he's having health problems, then you can express love and concern. If it is a cosmetic thing...that's different. But you don't need to inform him of anything. He is already fully aware.

well I really wouldn't breech the subject if it isn't necessary, but if you are really worried about him you just sit him down in a nice quiet place and you two talk it out. Just say that you love him very much and you really care for him and lately you have been worried about his health.

tell him to change his diet... now if it was me I would just say it, and I guess if you hurt his feeling he would motivate himself to get in shape.. let him realize that he's not being healthy

Tell him you're worried about his health. Ask his mother about family health history and use that. It shows that you're concerned about him being able to lead a long happy life that may be with you. You have to offer to do the work with him too. Can't hurt to do some extra laps around the track, right?

Well the simplest answer is, especially if you are not in the relationship long. Don't tell him he is fat. You will need to do something to help make him more active to lose weight. Try joining a gym together and eating healthy together. Say it is something that you need to do and you want him to do it with you.
