It depends on his level of confidence and self reliance. If a guy is confident enough to flirt with girls on a regular basis he will understand that rejection is part of the game.

However if he is the type that gets a crush on that *one* girl who is "special" and takes weeks or more to work up the courage to ask her out then the rejection will be like a punch in the gut to him.

Conquest, challenge, trophy: All the things that guy wants in video game.

By rejecting them, you are the conquest challenging them to bring you home as their trophy.

Take note this happens subconsciously. And like a game that is impossible to win, they will give up after many desperate fruitless efforts..

I call bullshit on this most guys give up. Guys chasing girls is media stuff no guy in real life values a girl more when he's rejected instead it becomes More difficult to obtain. Guys give up pretty fast I dont think rejection increases interests it's More likely to just make the person sad they can't get u which diminishes later.

If you reject them politely and with consideration, they think, "Gee, she's so nice, even her rejection makes me feel great."

So we are even more favorably impressed and intrigued. If you really want guys to go away,, you have to be at least a little cold, not too doggone polite.
