Why are guys mean to girls they like?

Well it depends on what you define as mean. If a guy is teasing you in a "mean" way that is normal. He's flirting. It's not meant to be mean, women are just sensitive. If he's a full out douche bag it means that he doesn't know how to treat women and whether he likes you or not you should steer clear. If a guy who likes you is being mean to you then he isn't a man yet, he's a boy.

Most guys aren't actually trying to be mean, they're trying to be playful. Unfortunately it can come off as mean to a girl because guys and girls play and socialize in different ways. A good way to test this is to see what he does to his closest friends. Chances are he does the exact same thing (except he might be a bit more gentle with you.)

Usually its because they like to be playful. I always like to make sure that the other person knows I am playing around but sometimes you can't influence what others think
