Since ear piercings are traditionally associated with women wouldn't that be more akin to cross dressing, which is a pretty feminine thing to do.

It depends on many factors. Usually I don't like any kind of piercing on a guy, but if the guy is buff and already very masculine looking, the earrings won't make him feminine, but still, I really don't find anything appealing in them.
And one is less bothering than 2 ears pierced.

For example this guy is still very masculine even with the earring, but I would still prefer him without it.
no. wearing earrings is cultural.
This is the head of a Sassanian king.

You wouldn't find more manly men than Iranian Khshathria, the warrior class, in that era and they wore earrings.
Wearing earrings or jewelry doesn't have anything to do with masculinity, neither does having a beard.
Masculinity is determined by control, dominance, Charisma, and logic.
Ear piercing was originally associated with rank and status, not gender. High heeled shoes were also originally invented for men, to give them an added height advantage, or to stand above the filth in the streets. Corsets were worn by both genders, as they assisted with posture and could make you seem taller by forcing you to carry yourself higher.
Not necessarily.. I have however noticed that the men who get ear piercings tend to be more vain about their appearance, and oftentimes well-groomed and stylish overall. I wouldn't say they're more feminine. I actually find it quite attractive (assuming the guy is hot as well.)
Never been a big piercing fan myself. I've never had one and don't have any interest in getting one. Do I think men that get ear piercings are more feminine? Yeah maybe a little. More in-touch with their fashion sense or some crap.
Now ear gauges fluff that noise man.
Not really, but I suppose it depends on the type of piercing.
Dudes with studs don't seem feminine.
Dudes who stretch their ears are usually more on the scrawny side... just sayin...
You are scrawny to nigga. You need to get your weight up.
yea nigga, we like that shit in prison.
lol
filler
don't worry you can bottom because mine is 7.5 inches and 6.5 in girth no lie though
@alfonsosloan45 I though your dick is "huge" seems like a whole lotta bullshit. Post a pic for everybody to see if your so high and mighty or else everyone will think your a pussy
@sparkles9615 So you can send that picture all over the internet? Hell to the no.

Not anymore... society has evolved to view ear piercing as unisex. However the placement or of piercing and the type of ring matter, as well as the natural look of the guy.
Me, being a baby faced dude with a round face... I would think I would look too feminine with an ear piercing, so they never appealed to me. Especially since I dealt with gay rumors as a teen and young adult because of my natural look and inflecting voice. :-P
Not at all, most guys I e seen who have ear piercings also have other facial piercings. They look good on a guy who has that rocker/alt style.
One big earring on black guys looks like gangsta/rapper style which also looks really good.
Guys who can't pull it off with their personal style don't look good in my opinion
Yeah but then that gets you onto women wearing trousers, men with long hair, women with short hair, men in skin tight pants, women in manly boots. Y'know, things aren't so clear cut and black and white now as they were 50 years ago. The line is quite blurred, it's cool like that for me. Doesn't affect me and it just means that people are more relaxed and chilled out about such matters. In order to be considered cross dressing now, guys need to be wearing women's underwear, skirts, high heels.
That's literally one of the silliest things I have ever heard. Earrings on men are common in non-western cultures. There is no universal indication of what is masculine and feminine because it is culturally determined. Culture isn't universal.
Not necessarily. Chris Brown has his ears pierced and i dont think of him as feminine at all
ticketcrusader.com/.../CHRIS.jpg
No i think they look silly I cannot stand looking a people that have chopped out part of there ear for one of those big black rings looks in my view ugly and if you went to an employer like that it does not look very professional.
I think on girl ear piercing can be really pretty especially if you are wearing pretty not to big earrings I hate seeing people in tv shows with ones that look like you need a crane to keep them up surely they cannot be comfortable to wear
If I'a big biker dude & look like I can kick your ass, you better let him wear whatever he wants in his ear... eh? (😄)
But if he is afeminate or gay I think he should be just as accepted for wearin earings. I did for fashion and to experiment when I was a 19 year old musician. 😎
Now I prefer not to have holes in my ears to have to keep clean. I'm neutral and too busy being me to care.
I have 4 ear piercings and am heterosexual. Ear-piercings on men has gone far back in history. For those of you who think it is "traditional" you are completely lost in your TV and movie land world and hope you never evolve to critical thinkers.
I got mine pierced because I like it. It is part of my self image, sometimes i wear 0, 1, 2 3, or 4... to me it is like a removal tattoo.
No. My brother started with his ear pierced, now he has gauges. He has tats, beard and is muscular... I would never call him feminine haha. Some guys might be, but not all of them are.
Looks totality girly to me.

No, it's a matter of culture and perspective. Piercing itself is just a man made material. Many culture associated piercing with women, it's the people who did this. With that in mind the mentality of the society can be engineered thus changing culture. Reversing it.
I don't think ear piercing is thought of as feminine except by right wing men.
I think it's kinda lame to get just one pierced because you think two is gay though - that's really lame.
I disagree, I have some very masculine mates that have both ears pierced, it's self preference!!! Some look good some look average, which in my case I let them know how average they look lol :-)
nah i dont think that but i really hate it when men pierce both ears. it looks stupid.
yeah i dunno. i kinda prefer it or none at all. @SilenRose
yeah that's best in my opinion also =] @SilenRose
@SilenRose Same here. Male with both ears pierced.
I don't think so. It really just depends on the jewelry they have. I mean, I'm sure they're not going to wear blinged out chandelier earrings unless that's their thing.
The politically correct thing to say would be "no, piercings do not influence one's sexuality hur dur" but I'm gonna go ahead and say yes. Yes I think they are slightly more feminine.
Maybe little diamond earrings. But I think gauges are actually kind of masculine.
No it's just edgy, nice piercings are associated with rebellion. I wouldn't judge a guy by that, it's seriously irrelevant.
I suggest you go to a Hells Angel and tell him that he's feminine. Let me know how that works out for you lol.
It can be feminine but it usually isn't.
I dont think a piercing its self is feminine ir masculine. I've dated very manly men with ear piercings... My best male friend has his done and hell wouldn't wanna meet him in a dark ally
I think this has become a Unisex thing now days but I woudn't do it but don't judge others who do it.
I'm not sure feminine is the word I would use. So no I don't think guys with earrings are more feminine. I just don't get the allure for a guy to want them.
No.
Piercings are pretty ubiquitous now. Same with tattoos.
Depends on the earring they they get, the type of piercing, and their appearance.
I have a big black stud in my left ear, and I disagree. I'm a bit feminine for a dude. But overall no. 😂
Modern society has viewed It as feminine. Indigenous men do piercings and makeup. But no Its not feminine at all.
I disagree with that. Piercings are usually asociated with rebelion, there are more women than men wearing them, but in average, they are worn by rebelious people, both men and women.
The right guy can pull it off. My dad has earrings, or at least used to. Some simple studs. I don't have anything for or against it.
I don't know if it makes them more feminine but guys with piercings on their ears fucking hot man... same with tattoos. Maybe that's just me 😂
Not at all. I'm not fond of body piercing, but for me, all that a man with ear piercings says to me, is that he likes piercings (:
Looks good actually. If the guy is hot already, he'll be hotter. But I like small neutral colors like black or grey and very small gauges
The plurality of male voters (47/100) believe that it is a feminine behavior.
Nope...
If he has an androgynous face then yes...
But mostly no.
very unlikely for me to find attraction in a guy with earrings...
It does seem feminine to me.
Not really because the types of ear rings they wear do not look feminine.
While I don't want an ear piercing myself I don't think they are more feminine.
I don't know, it probably varies by region and culture. I think I saw on a documentary that said it was men who started the trend of wearing earrings in the first place, but it might be bogus.
I just think some guys can pull it off more than others.
Not so much in today's society. 20 years ago, I would have said yes.
No, haha :) I don't think it makes them more feminine but I just don't like it.
i just hate the way they look, i dont care for earings on girls
Doesn't really matter anymore. If the pricing or eating looks feminine then it might look weird.
Ok I got my ears pierced at 6 months old my cousin who is a boy got his pierced when he was 4 months old. Every boy I know has his ers pierced.
Guys that get ear piercings try really hard not to be feminine, but they always end up looking more feminine anyway.
There are quite a few indigenous tribes that do it so no.
Not at all. :) They can sometimes look really cool.
I don't see it as feminine. I don't see the point of them... I see them as the female equivalent of belly rings.
I just know its not for me.
Not more feminine, it is just how they express themselves. Neutral on the matter.
I don't think it makes them more feminine. I don't really jewelry as a strictly female thing
Most guys who wear them look like absolute fruitcakes.
Of course it isn't. Most guys with ear piercings put a lot of thought and care into their appearance, which I like, but no its not feminine its neutral.
They look more feminine than a guy who doesn't have them, in my opinion.
If they have them on only one ear than they aren't cross dressing they look like a pirate.
i have a a cartilage piercing. and i can tell you that i am only a little bit feminine, sister.
Not necessarily more feminine, but definitely less heterosexual.
no not really, just something that goes with age/fashion
All I know is they are not normal. But its THEIR choice.
No but I'll trust his musical recommendations a little more ;)
I may be wrong because this is just a feeling but I feel that no man wears earrings. Men that wear earrings today are immature in my opinion. What old man do you see that wears earrings?
i always thought it was wired like your trying to be beautiful, but its diff if you are gay i guess
