Why is my boyfriend so uncomfortable around me >-< ?

We have been dating a while now and i can feel how tense he is when he's with me.. Like he's picking all his words carfully even if its a casual conversation. He also shuts me down whenever i try and open up with him and get to know him... I really care about him and im not leaving him, i just wanna know if there's a way to do something helpfull and make him see that he can trust me.

Everything is fine. You might be his first girlfriend so he don't know how to act around you. He will open up as time passes. Don't ask him why he is acting like this just be you around him. Some guys are like this at first. I was acting similar but now I act normally. Just wait nothing you can do with this. :)

There may be a chance that he is hiding something. I am not quite sure, don't take my word 100%. There may be a chance that he wants to leave you for someone else since he is trying to get out of the conversation with you.

Is he shy or does he have anxiety? Perhaps low self esteem or a mental issue? He could be struggling with things in his personal life and he finds it HARD to open up. Just let him know how much you care for him and compliment him often.

He does have anxiety, when i try and reassure him he gets even more uncomfortable and withdrawn. by the way we have been friends for 3 years before we started dating.

It's his anxiety. I had very bad anxiety when I was 15 so I understand. It didn't really get better until I got older and I felt more independent though. You sound like a doll though.

Are you sure "boyfriend" is the right word? Anyway I am assuming this is his first relationship so he probably has no idea what to do and that makes him nervous.
