What does it mean when a guy pats my head while sleeping?

Well my guy friend and I were going to visit a college together which is about an hour and a half away. Then on the way there, I knocked out, but next thing you know he patted my head and said "aweeee you're so cute" *comapared me to a dog* while I was sleeping, which woke me up.

The he whole day he kept teasing me about being short and all.

We we go way back with our history, we liked each other but we never dated.

Why? Because i wouldn't mind if she did it to me.
It feels nice. Its calming, relaxing, and releases oxytocin.

It's a way to show he likes you with out seeming creepy but actually kinda awkward to be honest. It's not bad, it's a good thing.
