Is revving your engine at a group of women considered douchey?

Ever since I got a V8 I realized how fun it is to rev my engine, but even more so rev my engine at groups of women. It's hilarious because we all know they're probably not saying nice things about me after it but I like the brief 2 seconds of divided attention. I don't do this all the time, just when the time is right and it has to be a group of women or else it's stupid.

So is this douchey? Here's a glimpse of how my exhaust sounds, but I didn't rev it.

It totally is but thats never stopped me. I've got some cheers and whistles, and some dirty looks, but who cares.
A while ago I was sitting in my Mustang in a coffeeshop parking lot with my friend, across the lot these two guys were sitting in a riced out Cobalt with two hot girls talking to them. I revved my engine to like 5 grand, the girls looked over at my car, looked back at the guys in the Cobalt and walked away. The look on those guys faces was so damn funny we almost pissed ourselves laughing.

Ah ricers. The thing I never liked about them isn't so much the cars themselves, the cars are still sporty. What I don't like about them is how most of the drivers of import tuner cars (or similar domestics, in this case) seem to think they are "thugs" and "gangstas". That's the kind of stuff I don't care for.

I fail to see whats sporty about a fwd 4 banger (which is what most of these idiots throw money at) but maybe thats just me. Not saying Japan hasn't built some great cars, Skyline, S2000, Imrpeza, etc. But most of those rice rockets are a "lipstick on a pig" sort of endeavor.

I guess I take more of a balanced stance on cars now that I've gotten a little older. I'm not quite as "American muscle or go home!" as I used to be. Japan's built it's share of good cars too - I think 300ZX 's, 3000GT 's , or RX-7 's can be pretty neat, for instance. Like I said it's more of the "gangsta" attitude of the ricer subculture that I don't like, more than any problem with the actual vehicles.

At the end of the day though, it would be pretty hard for me to pick anything over a Mustang, though, myself.

I rev it too high sometimes too but it's because I give it too much gas at times between shifting and everyone looks at me like "who tf is this dickhead"

I assume he's a guy who puts way too much stock in his car, trying to impress and get some attention with it. It's one of those stupid, roll your eyes and keep walking moments, but I don't give it much thought after that.

@front2back , it's still kinda hard for me to imagine that car as being cheap. When I was looking at cars at your age only 10 years ago, LS1 Camaros were still pretty powerful compared to most other cars, and still fairly expensive.

I must admit I'm a little curious as to what job you have that gives you enough money to buy, maintain, put gas in and pay insurance on a V8 Camaro. When I was 19 I struggled to be able to do all those things for my 2000 Mustang GT, because all I was qualified for were shitty minimum wage jobs. The car was fun, but not really making enough money to have it took all the fun out of it for me. I couldn't really do much else except have the car, not even cruising it really.

@TheSkaFish $5900 with a ton of mods, good working condition, just the paint is "meh". I work as a mover for $11.75 an hour + tips, and I worked about 50+ hours a week during the summer.

There are probably less than 200 of these cars registered in the entire country. I wanted a fast sports coupe that is really exclusive and reliable so I got this one. a lot of power, "receptive" for bolt-ons, a cubic capacity of bloody 5.7 litres, cheap but solid spare parts - Where else could I get that? Also, it's really exclusive. Most people don't even know what the car I drive is.

That's really cool, I wouldn't expect the German government to be okay with importing a high displacement, polluting American car. However, then again Germans are totally cool hitting 250+ km/h on the Autobahn so it doesn't surprise me.

Yeah, actually it's a real problem that the cars controlling device stops injection at 250 km/h so I'll see if I'm able to find me a specialist who can remove me this limit in order to be able to keep up with other super cars on the autobahn. Also, the fuel prices are usually really high here (lately they crashed extremely deep though, probably because of USA and the arabs underselling each others oils prices because of the new fracking oil-mining technology) and they make you pay taxes based on your cars cubic capacity as well as governmental enforced insurance so it's not cheap to maintain this car for me as young person. But it's like the "cheapest" thing I could get in this league, I can easily keep up with really expensive Porsches, M-BMW's or AMG-Mercedes. These cars are really underrated.

You can tune out the speed governor and stock they'll do 273 km/h. Put a cam bad tune it though and you'll see over 290.

Yeah I like Terminator Cobras too. The best of the 4th gen Mustangs, if you ask me. I saw one at our city's car show a few years ago, and it still looked just as cool as any of the new cars. I think that if I were ever to be able to have a nice car again, I would strongly consider a Terminator Cobra.
