What does it mean when a guy tells you a secret?

This guy basically asked me if I can trust him with a secret and I was like of course and he started talking pretty deeply about how he likes this girl (I know the girl) and how he gets so nervous around her and stuff...but the thing is, I've NEVER seen this guy be so deep! Why did he decide to spill this to me?

He obviously felt you were trustworthy enough and tact enough that he could tell you and: A) You wouldn't blab it B) You would listen and understand.

It means he trusts you, at least enough to tell you this.

But...he's known for being this badass,extremely outgoing guy and all of a sudden showed me this side of him...I guess he does trust me.
