Why do guys LOVE sundresses?

I have a group of guy friends there are about 8 of them i hang out with regularly. Im talking 5 or 6 days out of the week. I have no usual type of outfit. Or dressing style. Sometimes im gangster. Or lolita. Cryptic goth. Super casual or in my workout clothes. they have seen me in a wide range of stuff. But last night i wore just a simple sundress. Knee length. thick straps.

but they went absolutely crazy over it. I started to feel awkward. And compared to some other things I've worn. This dress is really conservative. But they kept saying "oooh oh wow wooow wow wow" every time i stood up. and im just kinda shocked by their reaction. Im considering buying more. Especially the guy i like could not take his eyes off me.

i feel like its just a dress that was only 7 dollar. And its not showy at all... like why do guys like them?

I think women have this idea that guys will be more attracted to them the fancier they dress as if the more ornate (or expensive) an outfit is the prettier it makes them and it just doesn't work like that. Men (at least heterosexual men) generally just don't appreciate fashion the way women do.

Men are attracted to women, not their clothes. Clothes only make a woman more or less attractive to a man insofar as they complement or conceal her natural beauty. By themselves clothes are just pieces of stitched fabric and they have no appeal in and of themselves. That doesn't necessarily mean you have to show a lot of skin but generally men prefer when a woman wears clothes that are form-fitting and flattering to her figure over something really elaborate and decorative.

Sundresses are kind of an interesting special case because they are kind of loose-fitting. I guess that's why it's so hard to put your finger on why women look so good in them. I guess something about them just teases the eye (in a good way). The way the dress falls about her body when she moves makes you aware that inside it is a beautiful, shapely female body separated from the world by only a thin veil of fabric. It sort of flatters a woman without really hugging her curves.

There's also a more endearing, less sexual side to it, too. I don't know how to describe it but when I imagine a girl in a sundress I imagine her smiling and laughing and running through a field of sunflowers in the summer. That kind of feeling, you know?

That doesn't really do it justice. Maybe it's something you have to be a guy, or at least attracted to women to understand. But if they're $7 you might as well stock up.

They're very feminine and men like to feel like they're super macho even if they aren't. Sundresses make men feel masculine because they look like tools when they wear them themselves.
