My boyfriend always compares me to his friends girlfriend?

So I have been going out with this guy for about a year now and I'm just not really happy right now. He always seems to compare me to his friends girlfriend. He will say things like "well she doesn't care if he goes on vacation without her" or "they barely see each other, she works a lot and he does whatever" or "she bought him this for Christmas. I would of liked one of those" which I replied "then date her" and he said "she's dating my friend" that pretty much just was it for me and I just left his place. Not only am I upset he says those things, but for Christmas I spent a lot on him. I spent almost $400 on him and he was bitching about a stupid Fitbit? Not only that but he goes back and fourth on telling me if she's attractive or not. Am I over reacting here on yelling at him about all this? Why would a guy say all this to a girl he apparently "loves" so much.

Dump him. If he wants u to be "basic" and like the norm that was stated, sign, and declare by his friends then he doesn't deserve ur beautiful soul. Because a relationship is of two and what u two care about to develop the relationship, not others. Because every relationship is different. So just break up with him, if he want u to blend like the girlfriend of his friends.

He doesn't appreciate you. I would take the Christmas gifts back, but I'm petty. Honestly dump him, he's trying to make you insecure. All that time spent in making you feel bad he could be making you feel good. There are better guys

He would prefer her or prefer you to act like her, so if you have any self-respect say "see-ya, I ain't letting you talk to me like this, either like me for me or don't have me."

I think you're within your rights to be upset with his behavior. He's acting like someone who came in second place but still wants the trophy, that he can't have. Personally, I'd kick him to the curb. There's better people out there who won't do stupid and childish things like that.

Well maybe he's not the guy for you, I don't know how long it's been since he's done it, but if it's been an extended period and it still bothers you that's something to think about

With me his main thing was how emotional I'd get with PMS and that I was very affectionate, which he wasn't used to. He has adjusted to everything now and accepts it all as a part of me.

I don't remember it taking that long to be honest, after I asked him to stop he did and it hasn't been an issue since, because I told him it hurt my feelings

It's funny because my boyfriend says I'm super emotional too around that time and affectionate. He apparently is not like that, but it is what it is

Yeah, his age when we started dating and the fact I was his first girlfriend I think was an issue for us. My guy has actually gotten much better. I don't know if yours will, but it's always possible
