Girls, would you date a selfless guy?

I enjoy making others happy and I get more pleasure out of making them happy than I do with things that make just me happy.

Recently it has been suggested that I be less selfless so that I appear as better dating material for the ladies. I wanted to get your girls thoughts on this idea.

lol A couple in my church just tried that. They are both selfless people and it actually has some funny moments between them. They also asked us their friends to help watch out for them encase someone took advantage of them.

I know but it is. Especially in today's society. Being selfless is looked down upon and seen as a weakness.

Yeah. I'd say I'm quite selfless myself, and selfless people are really nice. Just make sure to take care of yourself as well so the other selfless people don't have to worry! Haha.

haha we are usually really nice and I do try to take care of myself. But what do you mean about other selfless people worrying?
Are you talking about being aware of the girl that I like could be using me? Cause I'm quite weary of that. One of my selfless freinds recently fell victim to a controlling narcissistic drama queen. Even after all of his freinds and I warned him about her. She just broke up with him and got back together with him so now he is completely under her control. She can now actively control him and not worry about him leaving her.

What I meant was that when my selfless friends stop caring for themselves, it makes ME worry. It's unfortunate that your friend is being used. I think it's important to know what to look out for. If someone is only nice to you when they want something from you and don't care about you when they don't, then perhaps it's better to walk away.

Absolutely. My hubby strives to make me happy and everyone else around him happy before he does anything for himself. It's a special type of person who can choose others before themselves

Basically I enjoy making others happy and smile more than I want to do something to make myself smile. An example is that I'll go with the girls into a Disney store and hang out with them even while they browse the process dolls. I'll hang out with them and make fun jokes when I can. Usually while the other guys and boyfriends are waiting outside.
If some one needs help. I will help them out and get back to what I was doing after if thier request was sensible.
If my freind wants I'll be thier wingman even if I won't get a date out of it or look to good doing it.
