Is it a good sign if a guy extends a date?

You start doing one thing, but once you wrap that up then he suggests another? I feel very positively about how it all ended, he hugged me for a long time, text me asking me to tell him when I got home... the only thing that's missing is that he didn't say anything about getting together again. He mentioned seeing me at our usual group meeting where we met, but that's all.

It seem like the date went well if he extend it. If you want to see him again why not suggest it yourself? This is coming from a girl who wouldn't ask a guy out on the first date. But every other date afterwards should be okay to ask.
