Why would a guy get upset about losing a snap streak with me on snapchat if he rejected me?

Why would this guy get so upset about losing a snap streak on snapchat with me if he isn't interested? I told my friend to go ask my crush if he would be interested in me back because I started to like him. We would snapchat almost everyday but never really talk at school. Once I found out he wasn't interested, I simply backed off and didn't reply as much anymore to him on snapchat. I didn't feel like it was necessary to at least for a little because I liked him and was rejected. However I'm not really upset about it, I understand that not everyone will like you back in that way. Anyways after not responding for a little while (A day and a 1/2) he got upset because our streak ended. I find that silly to get upset about.. I wondered why he reacted the way he did over it if he's not even interested in the first place? He apologized later of course because he was kind of a jerk for the way he reacted about something so little and silly.. I just wanted to know what you guys think. He also said that he wanted to hangout sometime but as friends.. with his apology later because he recently got out of a 3 year relationship not too long ago and wants a break from relationships. Which I totally understand.. I just don't understand why he would react the way he did about me not talking to him for a little anymore if he said he wasn't interested? (We are both Seniors in High School)
