Why would a guy unmatch if I didn't give him my snapchat?

On tinder, he said he hates talking on the app and wanted my snapchat and I told him I didn't have one (which I really don't) and a couple days later he unmatched. why though? He could've asked for my number or something

Well the main thing with tinder is that it isn't an app that most people, specifically girls, would want to pull up in many situations (meaning not in their bed late at nite, or in the bathroom). So, generally girls are on Tinder less than they are on snapchat/ text, meaning that unless a girl is willing to transfer to another medium, the likelihood of losing contact, regulation communication, etc. is far higher (at least anecdotally).
Snapchat is typically seen by guys as a less intimidating transition for the conversation, being that text actually gives you a number that they can abuse if they're inclined to. Snapchat requires an acceptance before any communication; so, if a girl gives you this it shows she's willing to communicate beyond the app, and shows more interest than simply matching.
IF you said that you don't have snapchat, chances are he didn't believe you and took it as a passive rejection, meaning that if it came time to unmatch non-fruitful potential pursuits, as the number of girls can bog down the app, and cause you to lose focus on other matches, you would be the first on the list...
