Why do guys deny liking a girl to their friends?

Do guys deny liking a girl to their friends even though they like her?
why would they do that?

One of two things. Either
1. He's still pretty childish and the idea of people knowing you like a girl is still a little embarrassing to him, unless he knows you like him back

or

2. You're a Moped. Fun to ride, but you don't want any of your buddies knowing about it. Which is kind of childish as well in it's own way.

I'm assuming 1 is the case merely because of the age range.

I am going to assume that when you say like you mean is dating a girl.

If a guy likes a girl she should be the top of your mind and the first thing off his lips.

If a man hides a relationship then he is looking for another relationship or at the very least isn't committed to the one he is in. He does not want to ruin any options that may or may not be present.

They sometimes deny it to their guy friends because they might take the piss out of them. Or maybe it's because they just don't want to accept their feelings

Because he k ows exactly how the common guy, who is surrounded by other guys would react to hearing that. And he knows why would follow because of their knowledge of that and doesn't want to bother with it or be bothered by it

Our banter was actually with the friends of the girl. Long story short they are together now because of it

Sometimes if you tell a guy friend that you like a certain girl, he'll get competitive about it just for the sake of being competitive. I've seen it happen many times, and it almost always caused a lot of bullshit.

Well it's a really childish reason but since you want to listen it's cause like 80 - 85% are embarrassed, the remaining either don't want to admit it or they just think they're not good enough for her
