What does it mean when he tells his dad about you?

So I've been talking to this boy for about 2 months but I've known him for about 4 years and we've hung out a handful of times because I do virtual school but he lives 2 blocks away from me so he's always telling me to come over whenever his parents aren't home but his brothers ( 2 brothers that are older ) always are there and I already met his brothers and they know me by name and everything and one time on the phone they started asking me what me and their brother were and then they asked him and he said "we're talking" and they promised me they would keep him in check for me. But you know brothers , they'll always help each other out , even if that means lying. And a couple of days ago me and him were talking about our parents and he brings up how he told his dad about me and I was very surprised because I was not expecting that and I don't know if he was just lying or if he really did tell his dad. He has a reputation to be a "hoe" so I don't know if he just wants to get in my pants because he has brought up sex before but I shut it down and he hasn't brought it up in a while. He told me how his parents were very very strict so I doubt he would tell his dad about every single girl he talks to especially if he's so out there so I don't know if he's serious about us or if he's just sticking around to see if he can get sex and lying about the whole dad thing to just make me trust him more. I want to trust him but I have caught him in the past messing around with girls but now he's promising that he's "acting right" and that he's told his friends about me and isn't talking to other females and I don't know what to think anymore. I want to know if he's playing me because I will cut it off before it gets too far
