Married co worker asks for a hug?

I'm married as well and a co worker just asked me for a hug. We are not close friends but have worked together. He seems to gravitate towards me and seeks me out to talk sometimes asking me pointless questions. He has tried to high five me, fist bump and even has touched my lower back to say hello. He has mentioned things about my appearance as well. So from all of this I got a weird vibe and started to avoid him in which the next meeting he asked for a hug and pointed out to me in essence why am I avoiding him? I do not know why he is zeroing in on me but it feels that way. Thoughts? Thanks

It really could be a few things, that he feels comfortable enough to express more affection, he's just a flirt or that he's interested in you and showing it.

Regardless, if he's making you uncomfortable just shut it down. When he asks for a hug just laugh and say no thanks, you reached your hug quota with your husband. When touches your lower back clearly step away as your body language will convey its not welcome.

you should have pointed out at him that you're married and reminded him about his wife as well. it sometimes is obvious to feel attracted toward the people we work with as a large portion of our day is spend with our Co workers rather than our family.
