I think sometimes they're just disaffected males who don't like to see men succeed with women by using piggish, not nice ways of treating them from the perspective of them who, for whatever reason don't hate or disrespect women but remain comparatively unattractive to the ones they go for

Or its someone who is using feminism to hook up with feminists because they find them attractive physically or for being a part of the intellectual circles of the college they go to or websites they frequent

Still sometimes, it really is just a guy who doesn't want women to be disadvantaged for their gender & has taken to feminism with the actual goal of equality in mind, because they've either witnessed sexism or have read history of how things were for women before feminism appeared as a mitigating factor, deciding that its a virtuous path for them to take. I have my own views on the efficacy of feminism as a movement in the west, but I do think that without it the female vote wouldn't have happened so soon, & that countries like Saudi Arabia desperately need it. In this perspective I can sympathize with the male feminist who has good intentions, however, I think in the west there's a diversity of issues fueling inequality & that to identify as an egalitarian is just better & more efficient than to call oneself a feminist in the USA where I live. Not just because it makes you ideologically rub shoulders with extremists who use rape in the context of women who were blackout drunk as rationalization for saying that all sex between couples who were drinking is compromised, & counts as rape.

Feminism is basically supporting equal rights for all. I think that a woman (should) has (have) as much rights and possibilities as a man. Due to the way how society and biology works this is currently not really the case. I met very capable male nurses and very capable female IT people, hell I even met female command's that would kill without the same hesitation as their male counterparts.

I can't understand that some men see this as 'collaborating with the enemy'. There is no enemy, there is only us, and us need to make things work in a honest way for all.

It depends. I know some guys who do identify as feminists but don't do crazy stuff like demonize their own gender nor cross dress so they break gender roles. Just normal guys who think we need more justice for women. The others who do follow crazy feminist ideologies I just think they are nuts like any crazy girl feminist and just want to be edgy and contradict. Just the same issues as any feminist, in my opinion.

In my opinion, the guys I know that identifyy as feminists but are not SJW's they just wanna have girls' approval. its valid since they are high school and college boys they might not be comfortable with sharing controversial opinions that might affect their luck with women lol. Cause if a man says we don't need feminism he will be labeled as sexist pig and girls might dislike him even if he does believe in equality just doesn't think the modern woman is oppressed and doesn't like third wave feminism. If I do say the same thing as a woman all that can happen is that some girls will dislike me but no man (unless its a sjw which is fine cause I dont ever wanna date one) is gonna care about it.

Very important and not enough of them. It's very difficult to achieve equal rights and sexism if only women fight for them. Because most people who are sexist, don't have respect for them and don't listen to them.
For example, a man can help a woman in a case of street intimidation. They can teach their children not to do that in the future and can stand up for a woman if he sees it happening, because these men who do street intimidation, won't take shit from a woman, but will from a man.

Like all questions pertaining to feminism, it all depends on your definition of "feminist." Everyone really should be a feminist in the sense of believing in equal rights for all people, including women. That's just a basic standard of humanity in my opinion, whether you want to call it feminism or not. I respect men who are willing to speak up against sexism, and I don't see how that could be oppression. However, I don't agree with radical feminists, male or female.

They use it as an attempt to have sex with women because they think that by showing themselves as "protectors" of women's rights they will be accepted. Very often male feminists are disproportionately over-represented in cases such as sexual assault and rape.

It's about equality, rights. it's standing up for your mother's, sisters, girlfriends, wives, rights. There is nothing wrong with that. Just because he happens to be at a female rights March or parade doesn't mean that he only cares about feminism or that he is a pussy or whatever. Maybe their girlfriend went or wanted to go and asked somwbpdy to come along, maybe he feels strongly that his grandmother had to stay home and take care of the family or fill a traditional role.

Who the hell knows the reason, if he's showing support for the opposite sex, if he davours them over his own sex, let him. Maybe all he has in his life are girls/women.

Of course if he's hating males then that's no equality, so that would be bad, and really the only reason to bash somebody

Well, the difference between a male feminist and a female feminist is that with women, it's generally accepted that you're probably a feminist, even if you don't believe any of the baloney they're peddling today. They don't give it much thought and just instinctively say they are whether it's true or not. It's just expected of them.

Male feminists aren't like that. They went out of their way to align with the political movement because they find it the only moral answer to life. They're on the ''right side of history'' and they're the pioneers of this new age of equality. I don't find the company of someone like that very appealing, regardless of gender.

At the end of the day though, stern compassion is my general policy and I'd still befriend one like anyone else. Hopefully I'd be a good influence

I, personally, don't give a shit about what genre or race someone is. I don't want to be around or work with people that are assholes or incompetent. If you've got your shit together I'm ok with you.

I understand that cis white men are advantaged, and support leveling the field, not because I want to "get laid" but because it's shitty to give anyone an advantage. We need to change the way we treat humans from an early age, and make sure no one gets left behind, but as adults? there are some folks who use the label who really do drive for egalitarian pursuits. but there is a dark triad of behaviors that are problematic among male feminists. first off male feminists tend to also seem to be accused of rape quite more often than the general abd it seems like there's a lot to watch out for, though that is a chicken egg problem. next at the line are white knights wanting to get rewarded for having similar interests or for fighting for the cause. then there are some truly emaciated manlets who just tell of socially conditioned self hatred.

I must say it's really interesting how many male feminists turn out to have a history of sexual misconduct or end up in jail for whatever reason.

It would seem like they're either bad guys that try to purge a lot of guilt by flagellating themselves, or they're predators that see an opportunity to cozy up to women that seem to love the idea that they are vulnerable and who offer an excuse for male's misconduct; oh patriarchy/toxic masculinity made me do it. First and foremost, as a man, I have not experienced what life is like as a woman so I can't truly call myself a member of the movement. Historically, I would have said they were a little off the bubble. At least they are standing up for something. Stepping back and trying to figure it out tells me only one thing, those might be the smartest guys around. Either way, I guarantee that they meet more women than guys who aren't protesting alongside the women. Couple that with the fact being that they share a cause, and an event with the women of their choosing, all of which has those guys winning that round. But, will they have to always watch what they say, or live a lie? If so, they are the dumbest guys, because that would be hell.
