Because he's a d*ck who thinks he's being romantic due to something he read or saw on the internet.
If it was me in your situation i would have dumped his ass on the spot or at least gave him fair warning to drop that crap before i smash his monkey face in...
But then again, I'm a guy with a guy brain.
If it bothers you, tell him so flat out. Don't be shy about it and emphasize really hard that your body is your own and he's walking on thin ice with that kind of talk. You're not some Call of Duty game in his fk'n collection of console games.
And if he keeps that crap up he'll lose his "property" real friggin quick and he'll be back to playing with his own Property.
Nobody owns anybody. I'm married and have a kid, and i don't own anything but myself.
Some find that kind of talk cute or sexy somehow... I obviously don't

It's just a romantic way of expressing how much he loves you.
In the famous words of game of thrones
Guy: She is mine and I am her's
Girls: He is mine and I am his
so basically if you're in a relationship just think of it as they really love you
For whatever reason, they think it’s sexy. They like/love you, therefore you belong to them and should bend to their will. Ugh.
Because he likes you and doesn't want other guys touching you

Some men are just Alphas and it's in their nature to claim "territory" mates in said "territory" would be their mates and alphas tend to get aggressive around other males. Not all men are like this is what a beta would say. I'd tell you not all men are created equal.
I don't understand why you are upset about this. Your boyfriend does have ownership of your body.
My boyfriend also often says my body is his property. In a sense this is true because only he can see and use my body. If other men did it, it would be rape. I really like what he says to me because it gives me a sense of dependability. Since I am his property, of course he will love and protect me, he will never leave me.
If you don't want to belong to him, you can choose to break up with him, this is your freedom. That's hot. I don't understand why you'd even ask this.
Why not? You wouldn't want other women touching him would you so therefore you see him as your territory. He's a little crude in his manner but the spirits the same
It's a boys thing ( some like to mark their territory). Makes them feel like they control the girl.
Boys do that to make them feel better about themselves. Men don't "claim" a woman as a piece of property.
Girls, do it too.
I think of it like fetishising monogamy.
Dominance and ownership is a typical sexual interest in men and Submissiveness, being owned and controlled isn't unusual amoung women -- and men for that matter. So your fine with you boyfriend giving dick to another woman? Couples belong to each other.
Because humans are animals; we just pretend we aren't. When it comes to sexual stuff, that's where the lines blur sometimes.
lol, he sounds just a tad possessive! I'd be careful of that (watch it). I don't ever feel the need to do this, nor do most guys.
Personally I think he's not literally claiming possession over your body parts but rather figuratively so. It's like claiming your SO is yours in a loving manner.
I think it depends on the context and his other behavior.
He's insecure or he thinks its cute that's usually all there is to it
You got off lightly
I piss on my territory to mark itThey want to know othe guys aren't going to swoop in and steal you away
why do women call guys pet names?
just a relationship thing to some guysNope, no need to give full authority. Tell him you can't be anyone property.
Why do girls claim ownership of the house, his money and the kids in a divorce?
For the same reason that women call their partners "my man" or "my guy"
Never heard of "marking your territory?"
