My friend and I were in an uber and there was another passenger, a guy around our age. We were talking about the Bill Cosby case. The guy said if a girl accepts a drink from a guy then she is obligated to have sex with him. This turned into a heated argument.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened. Guys I've talked to think that if a girl accepts anything from them than she is obligated to give him sex. Going on dates, buying her shit, sharing whatever, etc. I've had guys lick their lips and fucking leer at me while talking to me but get offended when I tell them to back off. Or if the "nice guys" don't get the girl than we're bitches and are going to hit the wall because we're not interested.

however you're not wrong to get upset at the fact of guys expecting to have your pussy if they get you something but this is kind of an eye for eye kinda thing that most guys have I'll admit I had the same thoughts when I was younger cuz I thought it was a fair trade I buy a girl something and she gave me something but as I got older I found out the difference between wanting a one night stand and a relationship
the guys who are buying things hoping to get in you pants are guys with the mind set that either you'll like them more if they buy you shit or the just spent their hard-earned cash on some shit so you owe them
this can easily be fixed by you getting them something back or if you're on a date paying for your own food that'll basically send the message that you're just hanging out as friends

Those men watch too much "TV" to think that was the case. If a girl gets a free drink from a guy then she has every right to take it without having to give something back. She earned it by being attractive to that guy and the prize for the guy can range from nothing to gaining a new friend or something even more but there are always no guarantees. If the guy thinks he deserves sex that's complete BS, there are too many factors to consider.
- she could be married
- she could already be in a relationship
- she could not prefer men at all
- she could not just be interested at all
too many to list and that's only from the girl's perspective
any guy who thinks they deserve more than a "thank you" is very optimistic and any guy who thinks they deserve sex is flat out stupid.

It's a general lack of perspective. People in general (both male and female) have a mentality of:

"If I buy her something I get something in return."

"If I agree to go out with him I'm owed a steak dinner."

Obviously not every guy feels that way about women. Each time you meet someone give them the benefit of the doubt and judge everyone differently. The very second they say anything stupid like girls owe them sex for (charitable act) or (gift), they're wrong. Sex is not a privilege; at it's purest form it is an act of passion between two consenting adults. I think some guys feel like it is their birth right to have sex with any women and that they just have to deal with it, but I think thats disgusting and even though I have done modelling and I guess I am relatively ok looking I still often feel incredibly privileged when a girl lets me take off her bra and I just see her lying in front of me and then sleep with her, I think its one of the most incredible and most trust worthy thing anyone can let you do and anyone that thinks they are entitled to it needs to go f**ck themselves no matter how much money they spend on her for drinks, cloths or jewellery. If a gift is given, the person it is given to is under no obligation to give a gift in return. However, if a business transaction is made each party is to trade something. My beliefs are reinforced by reality. Women don't pay their fair share on dates, and when they do it usually doesn't result in another date.
