Do GUYS who "Smoke", appear more "Macho" ?

I smoke cigars on occasion but don't do it to appear macho and I certainly don't do with the thought of whether someone is going approve or disapprove of it.

Cigarettes are disgusting though, and that is coming from an ex-smoker who quit over 10 years ago. Why do I feel different about cigar and cigarette smoke? A few reasons:

1 - You don't inhale cigar (or pipe) smoke

2 - While cigar smoke is very pungent, it is nothing compared to cigarettes. Cigarette smoke is like a sharp punch to the nose. Cigar smoke, after it lingers, smells spicy and leathery. Pipe smoke is even sweeter and quite aromatic. On the other hand, cigar smoke can make your hand smell, so I always freshen up after I smoke (wash hands, take a breath mint, use cologne, etc.)

3 - Cigars are not smoked nearly as frequently as cigarettes for the average smoker. I might smoke a cigar once every couple of days, but the average cigarette smoker might smoke a half a pack (10) or more every single day.

4 - Cigars aren't nearly as addictive. Sure, I enjoy them, but I don't get cravings for them like I used to get for cigarettes.

5 - Cigarette tobacco is cheap machine cut tobacco with a bunch of chemicals added in. Cigar tobacco on the other hand, while still containing nicotine, does not have any additives and is 100% natural.

I know to non-smokers that might not mean all that much, but for a person who has tried both, I can tell you there is a big difference in the experience. Cigarettes = getting a fix, Cigars = enjoying the flavor.

Personally I've noticed during high school times girls tend to be attracted to the smokers. If I had to guess, I would think that it does make them look more "macho" because it's doing something that is considered "bad" at that age especially, but also shows that you want to take matters into your own hands and don't necessarily follow the rules. Later on in life it's less so when girls are looking for "clean" guys to settle down with. But I guess it will always have that "cool" appeal.

I think it subconsciously adds to the “bad boy” image, as in fuck lung cancer (even though it definitely increases your chances). In this sense, the “I don’t care” attitude can be attractive.

For some reason smoke/smoking looks aesthetically pleasing, but it's unhealthy in the long run, so not really.

No. It was previous​ generations of movies and media that had portrayed "cool" and "macho" men smoking. So guys who wanted to appear to be a "manly man" would smoke. For example, you would see cowboys, sheriffs, gangsters, thugs, etc. smoking a cigarette, cigar, or pipe.
