Does smoking cigarettes make guys appear more attractive or mature?

I was talking to a female acquaintance , and she was telling me about a past crush .. she described him as , tall, broad shoulders, has a nice car, handsome and '' smokes cigarettes''.

This last one caught my attention.. so I wanted to know.. is a guy lighting a smoke in front of you .. or just holding a cigarette in his hand .. make him look more attractive in some way .. or may be appear more mature?

For ME, if she smokes, she can't be with me. A few years back I met a girl I really liked, but then I found out she smoked, and I told her straight up "We can't be together. I'd never ask you to quit smoking, because that's your choice, but despite the fact that you are otherwise an awesome person, I cannot be with a smoker." She was upset at first, but she later thanked me for being honest with her, and we stayed friends for a while afterwards.

i think it depends on the woman. I def think some women find it attractive but there are definitely lots of women who see it as a turn off... the first determinant would be how the person views the habit of smoking cigarettes. If they think it is disgusting then obviously they won't find it attractive if they aren't against smoking then they MAY find it attractive

I think it all depends on the woman. For example, my dad smokes so I don't really mind people who do, but I don't prefer it either. But I know some girls that like guys that smoke, probably because they seem cooler to them and thus they are more attractive. Sometimes smoking can be a turn off while making out because you can feel their breath and I'd say the majority of the girls find it as a turn off. Personally, it makes no difference to me.

I won't lie, some people do look sexy with a cigarette to me, I don't know why or what that is... I don't even smoke myself, haha! It doesn't make them seem more mature or anything... but the act, the oral fixation... it can be sexy in some cases.

So many girls have told me it's a deal breaker if a guy smokes. They can't kiss a guy who smokes because his mouth is just that bad plus they can't breathe.

The only way I can see a girl liking a smoker is because she smokes and knows she'll be able to bum cigs off of him all the time. Much like potheads who will pretend to date a guy just to get a piece of his stash.

From a female's perspective, I don't know. From a male's perspective, if you do it casually, I don't care. But you got these types that think they're real awesome or something when they're smoking. And it really shows when they try to look you down when you're just passing through and they take in a lot of space. Whoop-dee-doo, the guy remembers how to inhale air, let's give him a medal.

people who don't know their limits when drinking, yes. Eat junk food, depends on their physical activity. I know lots of guys who eat McDonald's every other day, but go to the gym every day. So the amount of sport would keep them healthy. Not with cigarettes. There's no way to cancel the damage, and it already has a big fat warning in big fat letters that smoking can kill you. Unlike on vodka bottles. And yet people still buy cigarettes. What is it if not plainly stupid?

I tried cigarettes once turned away from them immediately but when the tobacco pipe starting singing my name I had to come to its call never looked back great uncle smoked a pipe my uncle my father and now me. Pipes are way better anyways smell better you don't inhale the smoke and it smells and taste good so there isn't any bad breath really.

To other smokers. Asking for a spare cigarette or a light is an easy way to approach someone. If they talk to you then you got what you really wanted. If they didn't want to talk, at least you got a cigarette and you didn't look like you got rejected.

I have dated girls that smoked. It was a long time ago and it was a more mainstream activity. I even tried it a few times to see what the attraction was but i never liked it much.

I've been told several times by girls I've dated that I'm an "Attractive smoker" I in fact started smoking because my ex smoked all the time years ago and its something I picked up. Luckily the only thing I picked up from her. Avoid her.
