Friends by definition tend to share common interests goals and hobbies especially for guys and I would assume this holds true for women as well if you don't share that many it probably appears that way what it is in reality I can't say.
Additionally the length of your relationship could also be a factor I know I have friends that I've had for years that would be difficult for a woman to supplant especially in a short time frame

He doesn't have to try as hard to impress his friends. And he doesn't have to worry about giving them the right gifts and choosing the right places to go out to and he doesn't have to put much effort in to that. Plus he probably wants his space and guy time. If he does this too often, tell him it's time to pay attention to you. And if he doesn't change, move on
