Why does my teacher keep staring at me and giving me extra attention?

I've noticed him staring at me a few times when I'm not looking. Like yesterday, I was talking to a friend and he was a few feet away talking to another teacher but I could see him from the corner of my eye, staring at me continuously as the other teacher kept talking to him. He also gives me extra attention in class. He's always like "Are you understanding this? Do I need to explain it again?" He's a really nice teacher but he doesn't do this with anyone else. Like yesterday he called out my name twice in class and asked me if I was able to do the questions.

When someone doesn't do his homework he always tells them that he'll throw them out of the class but when I didn't do my homework for 3 straight classes he said, "I won't allow you to be in my class again if you don't do your home work or better yet I'll make you stay here longer." He then added playfully that he'll "torture me".

I have some extra classes with him one on one since last week and I noticed that he was dressed extra nicely yesterday and wore a lot of cologne. He never wears cologne to our regular classes.

Also, I forgot to mention that he never takes any student's names like I mean NEVER, he always calls them Ms/Mr but I'm the only one whom he addresses by their first name. The weird part is that he found out my name by himself, I never told him and he's not the one who takes our attendance.

Today, when we had our one on one class, I was a bit down because I wasn't feeling well. He told me to do some questions and came to check up on me after a little while. He asked me if I had done the questions and I told him I couldn't because I wasn't feeling well. He got surprised and asked me why I even came to class. He then told me that, "You know I was wondering why you were a little down today but I thought maybe you just weren't in the mood to study."

He then told me to go home and take care of myself and told me not to eat anything from outside. He also defended me against my class teacher when she got irritated as to why I'm leaving the class. He said that it's so hot and sunny these days so I might've gotten ill because of that.

Depends on your age. The fact that you're saying 'teacher' and not 'professor' implies that you're under 18 so let's go with that. I don't think there's anything creepy about what he's done so far. Option 1, if you are under 18, he might have an innocent admiration for you, if you're a very attractive young lady, or just as a person he admires you. Option 2, he is a creep who wants to fingerblast your cooch. Unlikely scenario, but possible. Finally, option 3, he might be taking pity on you because you appear to him as unintelligent, an ugly troll, or a social outcast. You could just ask to speak to him after class and ask him directly, if you can handle straightforward and confrontational chat with an authority figure. If not, guess you're gonna have to wait til he tells you

I relate, my teacher used to always start the conversation with oh you look stunning, and sometimes even delicious if we're alone! He does creepy like you, but it does feel weird to do anything against him because he's being overly nice. I would suggest don't let him take advantage of you, nor should you take advantage of him if you wanna get away with other troubles because you're just gonna end up spiralling down in a trap. Aanndd if he ever starts physically touching you then you should report him. Luckily I didn't experience that stage, but keep an eye, especially if he's divorced!

I did I just think that you might be reading too much into things. Teachers have favorites, one of my male teachers definitely considers me one of his top students. He literally joins in on my conversations when he walks by actually. Some teachers like the loud ones and some like the quiet ones.

Nah I'm not reading too much into things. It's how things are. My friends have noticed his behaviour too. Joining your conversation is nothing special, all teachers do that but what he's doing is a lot different.
