How to tell if a professor is interested in you?

I'm wondering if my professor might be interested in me. Just for background I am 21 and he is 24, and I am NOT interested in dating him. I had him for a History course two semesters ago, and he has always acted somewhat strange around me. He would always stare at me (in class and office hours). He was also very talkative in office hours- sometimes our conversations would run on for hours. A few times he has brought up very sexual topics (which obviously have nothing to do with the material he's teaching). Recently he asked me to go to coffee with him- I'm wondering if this is purely friendly or if he's interested in dating me? Is it weird for a professor to ask you for coffee? Any opinions/advice are greatly appreciated.

He's 24? That's young, but cool. Idk, seems like he is slightly interested in you (if you say he stared at you often, especially if your convo. with him went on for hours-that's a really good sign!).
Just take things slowly with him. Wait til after you graduate or are not in his class anymore to pursue him? Just be careful. Maybe the two of you could keep in communication even after you have classes with him?

He might be interested in you but your you know what is not worth more than the job, salary, professional reputation...etc... maybe once your not a student etc...
